Abstract
A solid state color imaging device includes a plurality of photoreceptor elements aligned vertically and horizontally, with a color separation filter disposed thereover to make each element sensitive to a particular color. A white band filter is provided that extends between the rows of horizontally aligned elements, where the transfer electrodes between the rows of elements are located, to equalize the charge leaking into an element of one row and the charge leaking out of the adjacent element on the next row.

7583296 - Imaging apparatus - Owned by Canon Kabushiki Kaisha (Tokyo,JP)

An imaging apparatus includes a plurality of pixel portions, each including a photoelectric conversion section and a holding section. The holding section is configured to hold a mixed saturation signal containing a saturation signal overflowing a photoelectric conversion section of the same pixel portion and a saturation signal overflowing a photoelectric conversion section of another pixel portion which functions as a color mixture component. A color mixture correcting section is configured to correct a color mixture component contained in the mixed saturation signal read out of the holding section. A combining section is configured to combine a photoelectric conversion signal read out of the photoelectric conversion section and a corrected saturation signal corrected by the color mixture correcting section.

6661457 - Pixel read-out architecture - Owned by Biomorphic VLSI, Inc. (Westlake Village, CA)

A system and method for reading out pixel signals from a multi-color imaging array. The imaging array includes light-sensitive elements which are arranged in rows and columns. Each of the light-sensitive elements is sensitive to photon energy in one of a plurality of spectral regions or color bands. Read-out circuits extract signals representative of an intensity of the photo exposure of the light-sensitive elements at extraction intervals one row at a time. At any particular extraction interval, all of the signals extracted by a particular read-out circuit originate at light-sensitive elements which are sensitive to photon energy in the same spectral region or color band.

6078685 - Image reading apparatus for reading a color image by irradiating light onto an object and photoelectrically converting light from the object - Owned by Canon Kabushiki Kaisha (Tokyo,JP)

This invention has as its object to provide an image reading apparatus which can prevent color mixing even when a linear image sensor in which charge transfer units are arranged to sandwich light-receiving units of different colors therebetween is used. In order to achieve the object, the image reading apparatus includes: a linear image sensor which is constituted by a plurality of image line sensors (301, 302, 303) respectively having a plurality of color filters, and transfer units (304-309) for transferring charges from the image line sensors, so that a charge obtained by a light-receiving/storage operation of at least one color image line sensor (302) is transferred to the transfer units (306, 307) via the image line sensor (303) of another color; and a subtraction circuit for subtracting a value obtained by multiplying a charge obtained by the light-receiving/storage operation of the image line sensor (303) of the other color with a correction coefficient from the charge transferred via the image line sensor (303) of the other color.

6847401 - Solid-state image pickup device for producing thinned image - Owned by Sanyo Electric Co., Ltd. (Osaka,JP)

A solid-state image pickup device for generating image signals in accordance with incident light includes a semiconductor substrate with a semiconductor region formed on one surface thereof, plural channel regions extending in a column direction on the region and defining plural picture elements in which electric charges are accumulated, and plural transfer electrodes extending in a row direction on the semiconductor region. The picture elements include light receiving elements accumulating electric charges according to incident light and storage elements for storing charges transferred from the light receiving elements. The light receiving elements include a first set in which corresponding transfer elements are simultaneously activated and inactivated in first and second image pickup operations and a second set in which all corresponding transfer electrodes are inactivated in the first image pickup operation and transfer electrodes are simultaneously activated and inactivated in the second image pickup operation.

7379110 - Solid-state image pickup device for producing thinned image - Owned by Sanyo Electric Co., Ltd. (Osaka,JP)

There is disclosed a solid-state image pickup device in which light receiving elements of a light receiving region generates information charges in accordance with incident lights. The information charges are transferred to storage picture elements of a storage region, and subsequently emitted as image signals. Here, the storage region is formed smaller than the light receiving region. Only the information charges of a selected region are transferred from the light receiving elements of the light receiving region to the storage region. Therefore, thinned-out image signals can be obtained.
