The invention provides an information recording/reproducing apparatus having a device for loading a cartridge internally holding an information recording medium, an opposing member directly facing the information recording medium at least in a recording mode, and a device for transferring the opposing member. When inserting the cartridge into the information recording/reproducing apparatus, the cartridge loading device transfers the cartridge at least in the direction of the thickness of the cartridge, and then the transfer device transfers the opposing member positioned outside an extended space in the direction of the thickness of the cartridge to a position at which the opposing member directly faces the information recording medium inside the extended space in the direction of the thickness of the cartridge.
A disc cartridge loading device for a recording medium utilizes a cartridge holder for holding a disc cartridge used as a recording medium for information signals. The cartridge holder performs a movement operation when moved from a first position permitting insertion/withdrawal of the disc cartridge to a second position for loading the disc cartridge into a loading portion of a recording/reproducing apparatus. The loading device further comprises a vertical movement operation mechanism including a vertical movement operation plate for allowing vertical movement of the cartridge holder with respect to the loading portion.
A disc drive includes a cartridge holder formed of a single piece of sheet metal which cooperates with a slide plate which is similarly formed of a single piece of sheet metal. The inclined guide slots formed in side walls of the slide plate are parallel and serve to guide horizontally projecting flange-like guide members of the cartridge holder. A single piece disc shutter control arm is pivotally mounted in the cartridge holder and motivated by the force which moves the disc cartridge into the disc holder in a manner which opens the disc cartridge shutter. The chuck yoke of the turntable is provided with an inertia increasing annular member. A head is mounted on a pivotal head arm which is operatively connected with the cartridge holder in a manner to be pivoted up and down therewith. A head carriage is released and operatively connected with a motor upon the cartridge holder being lowered past the level whereat the disc hub of the disc in the disc cartridge is placed on the chuck yoke and the head is placed on the upper surface of the disc.
A driving device for a mini-disc player, which can carry out loading and unloading of a disc, operation of a pick up, and loading and unloading of a magnetic head using only one motor. The driving device includes, a driving part having a motor fixed on a deck and a gear train, a cam having a cam groove formed therein driven by the motor, a disc loading means having one end thereof inserted in the cam groove for varying its position following rotation of the cam, a pick up operation part for operating a pick up by the rotation of the cam continued after completion of the disc loading by the disc loading means, and a magnetic head loading part moved interlocked with the rotation of the cam.
A recording and/or reproducing apparatus for recording and/or reproducing signals on and/or from a recording medium includes a recording and/or reproducing portion for recording and/or reproducing signals on and/or from the recording medium, a carrying portion for carrying the recording medium, and first and second sliders. The first slider is movable in one direction for moving the carrying portion together with the recording medium up to a specific withdrawal position. The second slider is movable in a direction being substantially the same as the one direction for moving the recording medium carried by the carrying portion to a recording and/or reproducing position corresponding to a position of the recording and/or reproducing portion. The first slider and the second slider are overlapped to each other in the vertical direction.
