A pillowcase for a king size bed pillow is provided with a releasable fastener, such as a zipper, that extends along adjacent long sides of the fabric layers forming the pillowcase. Since a pair of the short sides of the fabric layers are always open, the layers may be separated along at least two adjacent sides to facilitate insertion and removal of a pillow between the layers. The sides of the layers opposite the open end of the pillowcase may also be secured by a releasable fastener, such as an elongated, L-shaped zipper so that the layers may be separated along three sides and opened like a book to receive a pillow. By employing a releasable fastener along at least one of the long pair of adjacent sides of the pillowcase layers, the task of inserting a pillow into the pillowcase is greatly facilitated.
A sham for a travel pillow has a bottom panel, a left panel with three edges sewn to the bottom panel forming a left pocket, and a right panel with three edges sewn to the bottom panel forming a right pocket. The right panel overlaps the left panel form a single pillow pocket. A left handle is attached to the left side edge portion of the bottom panel and a right handle is attached to the right side edge portion of the bottom panel. The right side edge portion of the bottom panel folds over the left side edge portion of the bottom panel to thereby bring the left and right handles together for carrying the pillow sham. A zipper double stitched to the left and right side edges fastens the right side edge portion of the bottom panel to left side edge portion of the bottom panel while the right side edge portion of the bottom panel is folded over the left side edge portion of the bottom panel.
The present invention relates to pillow cases utilized for both decorative and functional sleeping purposes. The pillow case is adapted to receive caricature animal and other caricature character appendages principally at the pillow case corners. The pillow case corners are rounded to permit attachment of such appendages so that the appendages project to the side and thus do not unduly impact, infringe or intrude upon the functional sleeping area of the pillow case.

A pillow that can be folded or rolled into a plurality of configurations is described. Preferred embodiments of the pillow typically comprise an elongated viscoelastic foam pad that can be evenly folding into half, thirds or quarters to create a formed pillow of varying thicknesses. Additional configurations are possible by rolling the pad or unevenly folding the pad. A pillow covering can also be provided that is longer than the foam pad such that the excess portion of the covering can be tucked under the formed foam pad to hold the pillow in its formed configuration. Because of its customizability, the pillow is adaptable for use by all types of sleepers including back sleepers, side sleepers, stomach sleepers and sleepers who switch sleeping positions during the night.
