This invention relates to a tool for aligning and manipulating an electrical outlet comprising: a base member including a top portion and bottom portion, front portion and rear portion, the rear portion including plugs for plugging into the electrical outlet; and a removable shield for minimizing the possibility of shorting out an electrical connection of the outlet with a metallic junction box during installation for example, the removable shield and the base member being coupled together or released.
The present invention is a receptacle level that simulates a male electrical plug and also contains a liquid bubble level such that when the device is plugged into an electrical wall outlet, proper orientation of the wall outlet can be obtained by reading the bubble level. The receptacle level includes tapered male plugs and fits within coverplate clearances as are typically used with the electrical wall outlet to be leveled. This device simplifies the leveling of electrical wall outlets during installation.
An apparatus for vertically aligning a given point on a pressure transducer unit with a desired point an a patient, the apparatus comprising: (a) a light source; (b) a housing adapted to contain the light source; (c) at least one leveling tube having a leveling axis that is substantially parallel to the light beam, the leveling tube comprising (i) a closed transparent envelope containing a liquid and a bubble of gas, and (ii) lines formed on the envelope, where the leveling axis is substantially horizontally aligned when the bubble of gas is located between the two lines; (d) an indicating mark formed on the housing means, where the beam of light is vertically aligned with the given point on the transducer unit when the indicating means is vertically aligned with the given point on the transducer unit; and (e) a locking system for selectively locking the housing means to prevent movement thereof relative to the transducer unit when the beam of light is both horizontally aligned and vertically aligned with the given point on the transducer unit. To vertically align the given point with the desired point, one of the transducer unit and the patient are vertically displaced relative to the other until the light source causes light to reflect off of the patient at the desired point.
A device for leveling a plug receiving receptacle in an electric outlet box is disclosed which comprises a surface having spaced apart opposing male bar prongs arranged along generally parallel axes extending about perpendicular from the surface, arranged to insert into corresponding female bar slots of an electric plug receiver and level means, arranged to indicate horizontal and vertical level of an axis perpendicularly intersecting the parallel bar prong axes.
A method and apparatus for the safe and easy installation of wall-mounted electrical outlets and switches utilizing a multi-functional tool. Two different but similar tools are provided, each in the form of an insulated handle that may be detachably engaged with either a wall socket or a wall switch. The wall socket device includes one or more prongs for temporary engagement with slots in the socket fixture, and may include testing circuitry. The wall switch device is temporarily attached to a switch fixture using one or more magnets. Both tools may also include built-in electrical wire measuring, stripping and bending structures.
A ganging tool for adjusting the position of a pair of ganged wiring devices such as duplex receptacles, toggle, and decorator type switches on a mounting, e.g., an electrical box. The ganging tool has a frame having a pair of apertures for receiving different kinds of wiring devices and holding them in place while the ganging tool adjusts the position of the wiring devices. The ganging tool also has rotatable toggle adaptors that allow the ganging tool to be used to position both toggle type wiring devices and non-toggle type wiring devices. The ganging tool further has a leveling means for determining the level of the wiring devices. Also, tool cutouts on the frame of the ganging tool allow the ganging tool to be used with power tools in conjunction with positioning and affixing wiring devices on a mounting.
