An alphanumeric color-coded filing system comprising a plurality of coded labels of different sizes having visually-perceptible characteristics corresponding the specific alphanumeric information and a folder having a front and back cover. The back cover has a unitary flap extending substantially the entire length thereof outwardly of the corresponding edge of the front cover, and the flap has a unitary tab extending outwardly therefrom along a portion of its length. The flap including the tab is marked with a plurality of placement guides corresponding in size to the front section of the labels. The placement guides on the tab are all the same size for guiding placement of labels of the same size. The tab defines a location for the placement of primary information, while the remaining portions of the flap defines locations for the placement of supplemental information.
A dual-slant file holder for angularly directing file folders in two directions. The dual-slant file holder has a front face, a base for carrying a slanted support surface and a pair of parallel side panels, wherein the angle between the slanted support surface and the base is between 5.degree. and 40.degree., and wherein the angle between the pair of parallel side panels and the front face is between 5.degree. and 40.degree.. By holding a file folder within the dual-slant file holder any marking indicia disposed on the file folder is easily visualized by a clerk and can be easily removed and reinserted.
A file folder label for use on file folders having an exposed tiered edge is provided having a unitary label portion with at least one major and at least one minor tier section. The major tier section or sections and minor tier section or sections are provided to correspond with a major tier or tiers and a minor tier or tiers presented on the exposed edge of the file folder to which the tier file folder label is to be attached. The major and minor tier sections of the folder label are partially separable such that the major and minor tier sections can be partially separated and individually manipulated to conform to the corresponding tier on the file folder. Additionally, cut-out windows are provided on the folder label and help to partially separate major and minor tier sections. These windows also help in the alignment of the folder label when applying it to a file folder.
A method for preventing fraud associated with instant game tickets by permanently alter the ticket to indicate which of the available selections the player wishes to play prior to giving the player the ability to reveal any selections. The ticket has an alteration site, which is a token or tag associated with each selection or a single printed or magnetic region. The alteration site is altered by punching a hole, cutting a notch, marking with ink, or changing the magnetic coding. The ticket may be altered after the player has chosen the selections or the player may be offered a ticket from a set of previously-altered tickets. The ticket may be altered or sold by a person or by a vending machine. The vending machine may allow the player to choose the selections, it may offer the player a choice of previously-altered tickets, or it may give the player a ticket with a random selection chosen.
The present invention provides a label having multiple information fields. The label includes two substantially parallel vertical columns. Each of the vertical columns is divided into at least two cells. The upper and lower cells of the first vertical column each have several blocks of optical character recognition alphanumeric characters to identify unique information in regard to the information to be stored in the media, the media, the label itself or the site in which the media is to be stored. The characters and/or the cell background can be color-coded to provide additional information. The lower cell of the second vertical column includes a single block having a string of alphanumeric characters with a color-coded background to correlate to the latter two characters of the string. This information is provided to identify the storage site of the media. The upper cell of the second vertical column includes a machine-readable indicia, such as a bar code. The information in the machine-readable indicia correlates to all or part of the information of the other three information fields.
The present invention pertains to a filing element such as a suspended file or file folder for the introduction of documents and an identification strip, characterized in that the identification strip exhibits at least one series of sites, each of which is identified by an alphanumeric labeling that is permanent and invariable for the totality of the elements of a filing system, with one of the sites of the series also having at least one colored identification labeling, with the choice of the labeling colors and the labeling site being specific to the given filing element.
