An insulation retainer is provided for mounting upon the threads of a threaded stud so as to retain insulation of various thicknesses upon a substrate to which the stud is attached. The insulation retainer includes an outer body member and an inner body member. Adjustment means are formed upon the interior surface of the outer body member and upon the exterior surface of the inner body member so as to permit ratcheting of the outer body member over the inner body member in small increments so as to accommodate various thicknesses of insulation to be retained upon the substrate.
Apparatus to provide security for a keypad processor of a transaction terminal includes a secured processor coupled to a keypad and processor of the transaction terminal. The apparatus may operate in a secured or an unsecured mode. In a secured mode, the apparatus prevents the fraudulent acquisition of information, such as personal identification numbers (PIN), entered through the keypad. By encrypting data entered through the keypad, the apparatus prevents the fraudulent acquisition of information transmitted to a processor such as a central computer of a bank. The secured processor provides actual and false sampling of the keypad and simulates keypad data entries to prevent an electronic eavesdropper from determining the actual keypad entries.
A mounting structure for an energy absorber with a mounting hole includes a member, to which the energy absorber is mounted. The member has a rod projecting from a mounting surface thereof. A cylindrical member is fitted onto and engages the rod. The cylindrical member includes a cylindrical portion, and a flanged portion overhanging from the cylindrical portion. The cylindrical portion is inserted into the mounting hole of the energy absorber, and the flanged portion is overlapped with a peripheral portion about the mounting hole.
The clip of the present invention includes a plurality of internally threaded legs which form an aperture for receiving an externally threaded stud or similar structural device. A moveable circular collet is attached to a plunger and travels from a pre-driven position wherein the collet is substantially free from engagement with the internally threaded legs and allows for flexure of the internally threaded legs and a fully driven position wherein the collet engages the internally threaded legs in a locked position, inhibiting flexure and engaging the externally threaded stud.
A mounting structure for an energy absorber includes an energy absorber having a mounting hole therein, a member having a mounting surface for receiving the energy absorber thereon and a rod projecting from the mounting surface to enter the mounting hole, and a cylindrical member. The cylindrical member includes a cylindrical portion to be disposed over and fixed to the rod and having axial ends, a first flanged portion extending outwardly from one axial end of the cylindrical portion and located above a peripheral portion of the mounting hole of the energy absorber, and a second flanged portion extending outwardly from the other end of the cylindrical portion and located in and surrounded by the energy absorber. The energy absorber is securely fixed to the member by the cylindrical member.
A grommet having a tubular shank and a head. Retainers project radially outwardly from said shank. The shank has an annular sealing ring between the head and the retainers. The shank is adapted to be inserted into a hole in a panel by pressing the shank, open and first, into the hole from the outer side of the panel in an axially inward direction to a position in which the sealing ring makes sealing contact with the hole and the retainers retain the head of the grommet in sealing contact with an outer surface of the panel. The shank has a hollow interior provided with ridges capturing a fastener pressed into the shank through an open end of said shank in an axially outward direction.
