A spray nozzle assembly, especially for spraying liquid manure, has a nozzle body which can be inserted in and fastened to a pipe stud by means of a union suitable for dye coding so that the nozzle can be easily identified. The nozzle body is surrounded by a circumferential metal sealing disk pressed into the union with the rim of the disk cutting into the inner wall of the union during the pressing step.
A quick change micro dispensing tip with disposable liner for dispensing liquid such as viscous and non-viscous adhesives in electronic component assembling. A multi-pin, positioning and locking mechanism attaches the dispensing tip to the dispensing pump. This feature increases the positioning accuracy and repeatability of coupling the tip of the pump. Additionally, the time is decreased in the coupling the tip and pump. Therefore, there exists minimal malfunction due to misalignment of pump with tip. The disposable inner liner of the quick change, micro tip is a simplified, disposable intermediary passage for the adhesive through the coupled dispensing tip with pump. This liner comprised of non-adhesive compatible, disposable material, is captive and supported by the shell of the quick change micro tip. Therefore, the liner does not require the strength necessary in current tips by incorporate the disposability necessary for cost reduction and rapid change overs between operations.
Frequent cleaning, maintenance, and or replacement of spray guns is necessary for good performance, but cleaning is often neglected because of difficulty in reaching the crucial parts to be cleaned. The spray gun of this invention has a fluid flow assembly which may be readily removed to facilitate cleaning. In addition, this spray gun has an external fluid flow assembly packing gland adjustment nut, which allows frequent convenient adjustment of the packing gland without disassembly of the spray gun. This allows the user to maintain free movement of the needle valve shaft while preventing leakage of fluid into the spray gun body.
A spraying system having a plurality of spray nozzle assemblies mounted on a common liquid supply header. The spray nozzle assemblies each include a nozzle body fixed to the header and a spray tip secured to the body as an incident to rotation of the spray tip relative to the body. Each spray tip has an elongated discharge orifice adapted for emitting a flat spray pattern and is formed with radial gripping wings in aligned relation to the elongated discharge orifice which enable the user to know the orientation of the discharge orifice, and hence the orientation of the flat discharging spray pattern, prior to start up of a spray operation. The nozzle bodies further each are formed with at least one pair of indicator nibs, which when disposed in longitudinal alignment with the liquid supply header, automatically establishes an orientation of the spray tip elongated discharge orifice at a predetermined relative small angle to the axis of the header so as to avoid impingement of the discharging flat spray patterns of adjacent nozzle assemblies. An alternative embodiment of a spray tip has a slightly modified locking lug design for effecting mounting of the spray tip in the common body with the discharge orifice aligned with the axis of the fluid supply header. Further alternative embodiments include a spray nozzle with a swivel mounted adapter and quick disconnect spray tip, or with an adapter having a screw-in orifice defining insert for the particular spray application.
A spray nozzle assembly having a spray tip formed with an elongated, cylindrical chamber communicating with the liquid supply and being formed with a cross-slot which intersects the chamber at a location intermediate the ends thereof for defining a discharge orifice, a deflection surface on a downstream side of the discharge orifice for directing liquid in a direction transverse to the axis of the chamber, and a pocket extending downstream of the deflector surface. In one embodiment, the spray tip has a pre-orifice substantially smaller in diameter than the chamber adjacent an upstream end thereof, in another embodiment, the chamber is disposed with its axis at an angle to the vertical and the cross-slot extends upwardly in substantially vertical relation for defining a vertical deflection surface, and in still another embodiment the spray tip has a wear resistant metal insert. In yet another embodiment, the chamber extends horizontally and has a long dimension which is significantly greater than the correspondingly extending dimension of an opening through a retention cap.
A quick release and connect nozzle assembly for use with a material dispensing head including a nozzle engagement member on a portion of the dispensing head, a nozzle member having an aperture therethrough for operable communication with the dispensing head to provide dispensing of the material in a predetermined pattern, and a connecting member integral with the nozzle member for engagement with the engagement member of the dispensing head, wherein the connecting member is operable by hand and provides quick release and connection of the nozzle member from the dispensing head so as to enable cleaning or replacement of the nozzle member as desired.
