A decoration article with an automatic flaking device has a bottom basin in which are disposed a battery power source and a motor and an electric circuit including a sound actuating device; and a flake circulating tube having a top outlet and a bottom inlet disposed at both ends thereof with the bottom inlet in contact with an inclined surface disposed on top of the bottom basin is provided with a screw conveyor by which the snow flakes are delivered to the top of the circulating tube and a dispersing device secured to the upper end of the screw conveyer is employed to disperse the flakes evenly via an obliquely located guide plate so that a continual snowing scene can be created with the addition of sound and light effects, making the decoration article more appealing and fascinating.
A decorative kinetic device which includes a transparent hollow dome containing a fluid and a plurality of small particles. The dome is open on its bottom and is mounted on a base having a pumping chamber formed therein. The top of the pumping chamber, which serves as the bottom of the dome, includes an intake hole and an outlet hole to provide flow paths between the dome and the pumping chamber. A pump impeller is positioned within the pumping chamber to circulate the fluid and the particles, the impeller being rotated by a motor positioned in the base below the pumping chamber. An extension member is attached to and extends vertically upward from the pump impeller into the dome and is adapted to receive a decorative object. A transport tube having an intake port and an outlet port is positioned in the dome such that the intake port is connected to the outlet hole of the pumping chamber and the outlet port of the transporting tube is positioned near the top of the dome. Rotation of the impeller causes the fluid and the particles to be drawn through and out of the pumping chamber into and through the transport tube, out of the transport tube near the top of the dome and down through the dome to the pumping chamber again. Simultaneously, the rotating extension member is caused to rotate.
A water flow simulation system for audio and visual illusion has an inner conduit and an outer conduit spaced apart to define a flow channel therebetween. A blower directs a flow of air through the inner conduit from one end to an opposite end where at least some of the air exits and is redirected through the flow channel and back to the blower. The conduits are formed of clear plastic and a light source is positioned to light up a plurality of objects floating in the airflow to produce a visual effect of moving water. A sound source operates concurrently with the blower to produce a sound reminiscent of rippling water. The light source can change colors and strobe to enhance the visible image. A lenticular lens on an inner surface of the outer conduit also enhances the image.
An assembly for producing an artificial snowfall in a Christmas tree display arrangement is stored as a pack having a base 10 with a carrying handle 16 and a lid 18 adapted to fit over the base 10. Within the latter is an air blower unit comprising an electric motor and fan located below a cover 44, moving air from externally to a fan outlet 40 and thereafter into an air transporting tube assembly provided with a venturi, through an aperture 64 in the cover 44. A Christmas tree can locate through a central aperture 62 in the cover 44 onto a stand within the base 10. Artificial snow in the form of plastics beads is available on the cover 44 and can be moved through the venturi to the top of the tree, from where the beads fall by gravity through the tree to be collected by the cover 44 and its petal sections 52.
Pellets which may, for example, simulate snow are brought to a position such as the top of a tree from where they are dispensed. After falling to the bottom. the pellets are collected and re dispensed. The pellets are blown through a venturi tube and from there to a tube which runs to the position at where the pellets are dispersed. An adjustable flap is provided in the venturi tube, this flap functioning both to contribute to the venturi action controlling the fluid pressure and as a valve to control the rate of flow of pellets for optimum operation.
A display formed of two colorless, transparent plastic cylinders mounted concentrically with a vertical axis upon a base. The space between the two cylinders forms a tank which is filled with liquid and some plastic snowflakes having a slightly greater specific gravity than the liquid. An object to be displayed is positioned within the inner cylinder and, so, is not in contact with the liquid. The object and the liquid are illuminated by a light within the base. A motor operates a pump having an uncased spiral rotor projecting vertically downwardly into the liquid. Rotation of the pump causes a diffuse upward flow of the liquid and the snowflakes in the vicinity of the pump. Though this causes the snowflakes to move upwardly in a gentle and diffuse manner, this motion isn't particularly noticed by an observer. When the snowflakes reach the top of the liquid, they are diffused sidewardly and begin dropping, creating a snowfall effect.
