In a composition for enhancing the growth of hair comprising a conditioner having the following ingredients based on a total of 500 grams by weight: The composition also includes a shampoo and a cleansing solution.
The present invention relates a hair treatment preparation which, in conjunction with after-applied heat, such as normal blow-drying, adds strength to, and repairs damage to, bleached and permed hair and enhances moisture retention. The treatment preparation consists of an aqueous blend of a hydrolyzed wheat protein and wheat oligosaccharides, wheat amino acids, and panthenol, as its essential active ingredients, with or without selected additives such as panthenyl ethyl ether, fragrance, preservatives, and the like. The invention also discloses a method of strengthening and repairing damaged hair comprising applying the hair treatment hair preparation of the present invention onto damaged hair, and thereafter drying the treated hair. Certain aspects of hair strength, especially for previously permed hair, appear to be increased when the thus treated hair is blow-dried.
A hair relaxation composition is provided. The hair relaxation comprises an activator containing a thiosulfate compound, an acidifier that preferably does not impart a color change to the hair, and a catalyst. The composition has a pH ranging from about 3.0 to about 4.5. A method for relaxing hair is also provided. A composition as described above is applied to the hair. The composition is allowed to remain on the hair for a period of time ranging from about 10 minutes to about 60 minutes. The composition is removed from the hair. The application, standing and removal steps are then repeated.

An antimicrobial composition which comprises an isothiazolone compound, suppresses decomposition of the isothiazolone compound and reduces irritation of skin caused by the isothiazolone compound is provided. The antimicrobial composition comprises an isothiazolone compound of the following formula [1] or formula [2] and an aminocarboxylic acid of the following formula [3] or a derivative thereof: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is hydrogen, alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl or aralkyl; X and Y are each hydrogen, halogen or form a benzene ring with the carbon atoms at the 4- and 5-positions of the isothiazolone compound; M is a cation of an alkali metal, alkaline earth metal, heavy metal or amine; Z is an anion; a is 1 or 2; n is an integer; R.sup.2 is hydrogen or alkyl; R.sup.3 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkylene; R.sup.4 is hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkyl; R.sup.2 and R.sup.4 form a heterocyclic group; and b is 0 or 1.
