Abstract
A glove-shaped overwrap of, e.g, cotton has finger portions which extend radially outwardly from a central hand portion. Ravel-stop means, e.g. baste stitches, encircle each of the finger portions adjacent the hand portion. A drawstring or other means permits the overwrap to be secured about the patient's wrist. Where a patient's finger is to be bandaged or medicated, the other finger portions are severed from the hand portion. The finger is bandaged or medicated and the overwrap is then put on the bandaged or medicated hand so that the bandaged or medicated finger is covered by the unsevered finger portion of the overwrap. The drawstring is tied around the patient's wrist. The invention facilitates bandaging and medication of, e.g., infant fingers and hands, since infants tolerate the overwrap well and can neither remove the bandage from the finger nor eat or otherwise remove the medication from it.

5933863 - Protector bandage

This bandage is used alone to protect the thumb, fingers or to be used over other bandages and act as a cover for them to keep them clean and help hold the bandage securely in place without the use of tape or clamps. Also to help prevent a person from further injury by hitting the uncovered injured thumb or finger. It makes the injured thumb or finger more comfortable as it conforms to the shape of the finger or thumb. It can be used over thumb, finger, guards, splints, etc.

6760924 - Glove - Owned by Hatch Imports, Inc. (Oxnard, CA)

A glove, that is adapted to be used on at least the shooting hand of a shooter of a fire arm, made up of a main body portion, that closely approximates the size and shape of a hand; a gauntlet that extends from the main body portion and is adapted to cover at least a portion of the fore arm of the glove wearer, and finger elements that extend from the main body portion in a direction opposite to the direction of the gauntlet. The trigger finger element has a cut ring disposed between the palm directed end of the trigger finger element and a distal end of the same trigger finger element. The cut ring is made up of cross stitch members that are disposed within the fabric portion of the finger element.

7107623 - Composite glove structure - Owned by Armor Holdings, Inc. (Jacksonville, FL)

A rappeller's glove, that is adapted to be used as a pair on both hands of a person who is rappelling. The rappeller's glove is made up of a portion of film form material that covers the user's palm; digit portions extending outwardly from the palm portion, and preferably extending only partially up the digits that they are intended to cover, that are made up at least partially of film form material; a plurality of effectively discrete padded areas disposed on said palm portion; and a protective film overlay disposed over said discrete transverse padding areas adhered by stitching or otherwise to the palm portion to thereby define the plurality of padded areas, and covering an area including the place where the fingers and the main body portion of the user's hand are joined. Means to hold the glove tight against the wearer's wrist are disposed at the base of the glove. A composite of a rappeller's glove overlying a shooter's glove is also disclosed. The shooter's glove is made up of a palm covering portion with a padded heal area; material extending from the palm covering portion sufficient to cover at least a portion of the fingers of the user and elastic means adapted to hold the glove close to the hand. At least one cut ring is disposed about at least one digit portion of the shooter's glove so that the tip of a digit portion can be uncovered without the remainder of the textile fabric material making up the glove unraveling. This allows the wearer of the composite glove to enable the end joint of the covered digit to easily articulate and to provide for direct contact with a weapon or other firing mechanism that enables increased sensitivity for safe and effective operation.

5976099 - Method and apparatus to medically treat soft tissue damage lymphedema or edema

A method and apparatus for the alleviation of an undesirable fluid accumulation in a body area of a patient is provided. The apparatus, or static reaction system has enclosure containing a multiplicity of particles that are pressed against the body area. The shape of the enclosure and the physical qualities of the particles affect the suitability of specific versions of the invention to particular conditions and body areas. Pockets are included in some versions of the enclosure to capture and isolate subsets of the multiplicity of particles. An optional directional flow pattern feature is established by the orientation, sizes and shapes of the optional pockets and thereby affects the rate at which the fluid accumulation is reduced. Lightweight and flexible materials are used to manufacture various comfortable, transportable and storable models of the invention. The enclosure is optionally constructed with low friction, porous and breathing fabrics and materials to improve patient comfort and patient compliance. The enclosure is pressed, held and/or forced against a selected body area by means of a detachable compression cover, a pneumatic pack, compressive bandaging or wrapping, and made with velcro stretch fabric and/or with velcro strapping or other suitable means. Certain versions of the invention are applied by a capable and competently trained patient and with reduced need of constant professional supervision.
