A paving material distribution system for uniformly distributing a layer of paving material includes a containment member that is slidably mounted on the rear frame of a paving machine. A first means for conveying paving material laterally with respect to the direction of travel of the paving machine is positioned at a preselected distance from the containment member. Power means are also included to controllably, simultaneously move the containment member and the first means in a substantially vertical direction.
The finding produces a self-propelled vibratory finishing machine for asphalting road surfaces comprising a frame which supports a storage device and distribution of the bitumen to be deposited on the surfaces comprising a pair of screw feeders moved by a transmission unit and a pressing device the deposited bitumen aggregate set behind the screw feeders. Connected to the transmission unit and next to the screw feeders there is a flow divider device having surfaces symmetrically shaped to create at least one cutting edge suited to aid the flow of bitumen towards the screw feeders.
An apparatus for controlling a material feed system of a paver is disclosed. The material feed system includes a feeder conveyor and a spreader auger. The apparatus includes a sensor that monitors the amount of material at the edge of the screed and responsively produces an actual material height signal. A rotary switch produces a desired material height signal indicative of a desired amount of material at the edge of the screed. A controller receives the actual and desired material height signals, determines a desired rotational speed of the auger in response to the difference between the signal magnitudes, and produces a command signal to rotate the auger at the desired speed. An electrohydraulic system receives the command signal and rotates the auger at the desired rotational speed.
A paving machine discharges HMA or other paving materials directly on top of a distributing auger located between the paving material storage hopper and the screed. The distributing auger is then capable of remixing any partially segregated paving materials and of uniformly distributing the paving materials directly adjacent a previously-paved segment. Materials may be discharged on top of the distributing auger from a discharge opening of a gravity feed hopper located adjacent the distributing auger or from an inclined conveyor delivering materials from a more standard hopper mounted near the front end of the paving machine.
An anti-segregation device (10) for preventing segregation of paving material (P) that is applied to a road bed (7) by a paving vehicle (1). The anti-segregation device (10) includes a first end (14) that is connected with the frame (2of the paving vehicle (1) and an opposing end (16) proximal to the road bed (7). The anti-segregation device (10) is configured to substantially contain paving material (P) between the anti-segregation device (10) and a screed (3) on the paving vehicle (1). The anti-segregation device (10) substantially prevents larger material particles from falling, rolling or otherwise moving forwardly from the remainder of the paving material head (H) so as to generally prevent material segregation.
The invention relates to a method for smoothing or leveling a ground surface, wherein a smoothing or leveling material is laid on a ground surface in that a box-like device filled with material is moved forwards, the material being allowed to exit a plate-adjustable rear opening in the box-like device and to come to lie in a strip, and a blade mounted on the box-like device after the opening spreads the material on the ground surface, the blade being capable of being raised and lowered together with the plate, the blade is raised and lowered with an adjustable reduction ratio relative to the plate, by means of a lever/parallelogram arrangement which connects the blade and the plate.
