A power hand tool has a gear box casing having an opening, at least one high speed shaft extending through the opening, sealing member for sealing the gear box casing against lubricant leakage. The sealing member includes a sealing washer which does not rotate and sits tightly on the shaft and which radially touches a circumference of the opening. The sealing washer is composed of an elastic material which can absorb and release lubricant.
For an eccentric disk sander (1, 101, 161) with a housing, in particular a multi-part housing (3, 103, 9, 109, 162, 165), in which a motor with a motor shaft (16, 116, 170) moves a sanding disk (13, 113, 167) via an eccentric (19, 119, 173), in which arrangement the eccentric (19, 119, 173) carries the sanding disk (13, 113, 167) gyrating about the rotational axis (18, 118, 172) with the eccentricity "e", and simultaneously rotating about the spindle (26, 126, 177), the task of providing a compact, robust, and convenient unit is solved by the hollow shaft (19, 119, 173), open at both ends, being designed with an eccentric hole (25, 125, 176), beyond which an eccentric shaft (27, 127, 178) which carries the sanding disk (13, 113, 167) protrudes from at least one end.
An eccentric disk grinder has a housing, a motor accommodated in the housing and having a shaft provided with an eccentric member, a first bearing supporting the shaft, a grinding disk eccentrically, circulatingly and rotatingly driven by the motor through the shaft, and a second bearing in which the grinding disk is rotatable relative to the shaft about an axis of the eccentric member. The second bearing includes at least one first bearing which takes up substantially radial forces and supports at least one of the shaft and the eccentric member at its end facing the grinding disk. The bearings also have at least another second bearing which takes up substantially axial forces and supports at least one of the shaft and the eccentric member at its side facing away from the grinding disk.
A digitizer having a dual exposure technique is combined with an associated LUT for each exposure. Each LUT may have a transfer function including a logarithmic operator resulting in a digitized image with improved photometric resolution and increased dynamic range. A digitizer utilizing multiple exposures at approximately equal exposure time intervals provides a noise reduction for lower optical density portions of the data medium further contributing to increased dynamic range. Associated methods are also provided.
A grease slinger, power tool and method of assembling a power tool. The power tool includes a housing, a motor supported in the housing and including a rotatable shaft extending along an axis, a gear case connected to the housing, a flange between the housing and the gear case having a first side and a second side and defining an opening extending between the first side and the second side, a drive mechanism supported by the gear case and drivingly engaging the motor shaft, and a grease slinger. The grease slinger includes a body supportable on the shaft for rotation with the shaft relative to the flange. The body has a first face providing a grease-slinging surface and a second face facing the first side of the flange. The second face includes an annular side wall defining an annular channel. The side wall and the channel cooperate with the flange to provide a labyrinth seal and to prevent grease from flowing from the gear case into the housing.
A belt sander is disclosed that may include a sanding assembly having a first roller and a second roller, the sanding assembly being configured to receive a sanding belt around the first roller and the second roller to define a sanding surface therebetweeen. The belt sander may include a motor operationally coupled to the sanding assembly and opposite the sanding surface, the motor being configured to rotate at least the first roller and thereby rotate the sanding belt around the first roller and the second roller, as well as a handgrip formed around at least a portion of the motor and substantially encasing the motor.
