Abstract
A display assembly 10 is adapted to selectively illuminate those numerals associated with a home address. Moreover, display 10 includes a mounting member 12 which is adapted to be mounted to the surface of the house and a flat plate 26 which is adapted to overlay the mounting member 12 and which further is adapted to receivably mount neon tubes 30 which are selectively illuminated and which are configured in a shape which is substantially similar to numerals associated with a home address.

An emergency sign is mounted to a canopy that is attached to a support such as a ceiling or vertical wall. The canopy includes a post, and the sign includes a housing having a slot for receiving the post. The slot includes a wide portion and a narrow portion. The post is insertable into the wide portion and then slidable into the narrow portion. The sign housing includes a pair of locking arms that are spread apart by movement of the post into the narrow portion, and then snap back to a position blocking reverse travel of the post out of the narrow portion. The canopy includes through-holes for receiving mounting screws to secure the canopy to a support. Each through-hole includes radially inwardly projecting ears which are deformable in response to the entry of a screw into the through-hole to retain the screw in the through-hole during the mounting procedure.

A lighting indicator assembly is provided that includes a main unit, a light plate and an outside frame. Inside the main unit a voltage transformer, circuits and other components are accommodated. The light plate includes a plate body, on which grooves are formed. The grooves outline alphanumeric characters. A plurality of light tubes are disposed in the grooves to form illuminated representations of the alphanumeric characters. At least two light tubes form each character. The light tubes are connected to each other by connecting wires and connectors. The light plate is accommodated at the front side of the main unit. The outside frame is fitted to the front of the main unit. The outside frame and main unit are joined as one unit by means of projections on the outside frame engaging openings formed in the main unit. The outside frame presses and fixes the plate body of the light plate to the main unit.

An address plate is fitted over a building wall having a stepped profile configuration established by overlapped courses of shingles or clapboards. The address plate includes a generally flat display panel for displaying indicia pertaining to the address of the building and tongues inserted between the overlapped courses to hold the display panel in juxtaposition with a selected course. Tabs are placed at steps between the overlapped courses for fasteners which secure the address plate in place.
