The amusement ride comprises at least one seat suspended on a bogie moving along at least one rail. The seat is provided with a harness for the restraint of at least one passenger in the seat. The seat-harness unit is shaped so as to form a restraint imprisoning the passenger's body when the harness is in the closed position, each of the passenger's four limbs emerging from said restraint through a separate opening, so that the passenger is suspended with his legs in mid-air without a wall or a floor around him.
An amusement device comprising a modularized pod at least one of which are attached to each side of a carriage that travels along a track. The pods are each mounted to the carriage for 360.degree. that are interconnected to the side walls of a carriage that rides along a track in a predetermined direction of travel. One or more riders sit and are restrained in the pods which are capable of spinning 360 degrees about a horizontal axis that extends transverse to the direction of travel. The riders may control the spinning of the pod, either forward or backward, by pressing buttons on the passenger's handgrips located inside the pod.
A method for moving at least one carriage over a guide by transport mechanism, wherein the carriage, which can be moved over the guide, is connected to an engaging mechanism, which can be moved by the transport mechanism, whereupon the carriage is moved in a direction of transport over the guide by the engaging mechanism, after which the engaging mechanism is moved with respect to the carriage in a direction opposed to the direction of transport, and the engaging mechanism is disconnected from the carriage. An amusement device utilizing the above method is also disclosed.
An amusement device includes a guide structure forming an endless track, along which a vehicle capable of accommodating at least one person can travel, and where a person present in the vehicle extends substantially parallel to the track during operation. The person present in the vehicle lies with his back towards the track and with his face directed away from the track. The person's view is not impeded by other vehicles and he can only see the track itself when he turns his head.
An amusement ride has a wooden running track realized by two wooden track structures and a support beam that is disposed above the two wooden track structures and that bridges the two wooden track structures. A passenger carrier (e.g., coaster car or train) has a frame structure with a first set of wheels mounted thereto that are adapted to run along the first and second wooden track structures during positive-g motion in addition to at least one seat that is suspended below the first set of wheels. This suspended wooden-coaster design provides a distinctive rough, noisy out of control feeling in addition to a distinctive feeling of freedom (and risk/danger), which are enjoyed by many roller coaster enthusiasts.
