Abstract
A trailer hitch guide with a first portion to be mounted on a tractor vehicle, and a second portion to be mounted on a trailer vehicle. The first portion having a guide telescopically mounted to the tractor such that it can be viewed by the tractor operator while the vehicle is in motion. The second portion having a hood telescopically mounted to the trailer drawbar at a height equal to that of the guide. The relative spacial relation between the hood and guide emulating the relative spacial relation between the tractor hitch ball and trailer drawbar, such that when the operator is attempting to couple the tractor to the trailer, he can position the tractor for coupled engagement with the trailer by viewing the relative spacial relation of the two portions of the trailer hitch guide.

A new trailer hitch apparatus for hitching a trailer to a vehicle so that the trailer is in a level state when hitched. The inventive device includes a vertical member coupled to a horizontal member. A securing arm member and a hitching cap member are coupled to the horizontal member. A U-shaped securing bolt is coupled to the securing arm member for permitting the attachment of the hitching shaft of a trailer to the securing arm member. Coupled to the vertical member is a mounting member with a trailer mounting portion designed for mounting a hitch ball thereto.

5769443 - Alignment guide assembly for trailer hitches - Owned by Marcom; Billy Ray (Bedford, TX)

The alignment guide assembly includes an alignment guide that is movable between an operative and an inoperative position on the tongue of a trailer without removing any of its parts. The alignment guide assembly also includes a stop bracket on the trailer hitch of a tow vehicle, and in its operative position, the alignment guide is capable of longitudinally aligning a hitch ball on the tow vehicle with a socket on the tongue of the trailer, of locating the hitch ball in vertical alignment with the socket, and of stopping downward movement of the trailer tongue when the socket is in position to be locked to the hitch ball.

5518263 - Vehicle/trailer hitch alignment system

An alignment system for hitching a towing vehicle to a trailer is provided to increase the convenience and ease to the vehicle driver. A vertical trailer guide is temporarily joined to the tongue of the trailer proximate the hitch, and a guide receptor is affixed to the rear of the towing vehicle. A color indicator signals the driver when the vehicle and trailer are properly aligned, whereupon the driver can then manually complete the hitching operation.

6446999 - Trailer hitch alignment system

A trailer hitch alignment system for providing a driver of a vehicle the ability to visually align the hitch of the vehicle with the tongue of a trailer. The trailer hitch alignment system includes a hitch including a base portion and a joint member extending from the base portion. The hitch assembly further includes a set rod extending upwardly from the base portion. The set rod is positioned proximate the joint member. A mirror assembly is removably couplable to the set rod. The mirror assembly includes a mirror pivotally coupled to a mirror connection frame. The mirror is pivotal about a generally horizontal axis.

6279940 - Device for guiding the coupling of a trailer hitch

A trailer hitch coupling device includes an elongate rigid member mountable at a first end thereof to a forward end of a trailer so as to dispose, when the first end is mounted to the forward end of the trailer, a distal end of the rigid member forwardly of the forward end of the trailer into proximity to an applique when the applique is mounted to a rear surface of a towing vehicle. The applique is mounted so as to: (a) be viewable by a driver of the vehicle when the vehicle is translated rearwardly; and, (b) vertically align a hitch hood on the trailer with a hitch ball on the vehicle.
