The apparatus comprises a base unit, a rotatable shaft extending vertically from the base unit, a means for rotating the shaft, and a rotatable cylindrical basket capable of holding fried foods. The basket comprises an horizontally disposed circular bottom piece and a vertically disposed cylindrical piece of porous material being attached at its lower open end to the outer edge of the circular bottom piece to form the vertical wall of the basket. The basket is vertically connectible to and removable from the rotatable shaft. The apparatus further comprises a means for coupling the rotatable shaft to the rotatable basket so that the axis of the shaft is aligned with the axis of the basket. The apparatus also comprises a solid vertical wall surrounding the porous vertical wall of the rotatable basket. The solid vertical wall has an annular channel on the inside of its lower edge so that it has a substantially J-shaped cross section. The solid vertical wall is vertically mountable on the removable from the apparatus so that the height of the circular bottom piece of the basket relative to the base unit is greater than or equal to the height of the upper edge of the annular channel of the solid vertical wall relative to the base unit. The inner edge of the annular channel is spaced apart from and outside of the outer edge of the circular bottom piece of the basket. The apparatus further comprises a solid removable lid.
A new rice rinsing system for cleaning natural grown rice without having to get hands wet. The inventive device includes a cylindrical water bowl having an open upper end, a closed lower end and a cylindrical side wall therebetween. A cylindrical shaft extends upwardly from the closed lower end. A cylindrical rice holder is provided having an open upper end, a closed lower end and a cylindrical side wall therebetween. The closed lower end and the cylindrical side wall of the rice holder are perforated. A hollow cylindrical sleeve extends upwardly from the closed lower end of the rice holder. The cylindrical sleeve has an open lower end for receiving the cylindrical shaft of the water bowl therein when the rice holder is positioned within the water bowl. A water bowl lid is dimensioned for covering the open upper end of the water bowl. The water bowl lid has a centrally disposed aperture therethrough with a cylindrical collar extending upwardly therefrom. A cylindrical spindle is provided having an upper end and a lower end. The lower end of the spindle is received through the centrally disposed aperture of the water lid and engages the cylindrical sleeve of the rice holder. An elongated handle engages the upper end of the cylindrical spindle.
Waste washout liquid containing liquid washable photopolymer from a printing plate manufacturing process is subjected to filtration via a centrifugal filter unit. The unit has a collector for the solid material arranged for rotation and disposed so as to allow deposition upon it of solid material during its rotation. The unit is fitted with at least one of a pretreatment unit for coagulating the solid material and a collector removable from the filter unit so as to allow its disposal together with the solid material deposited on it. Usually, the pretreatment unit is a preheater and the collector is a disposable liner within a rotatable chamber.
A food drying device of the type which includes an outer housing, a perforated main container in the housing and a drive apparatus on the housing for rotating the main container relative to the housing, includes a perforated auxiliary container disposable in the main container, and including an open-top bowl-shaped base and a removable lid. The bottom of the base has plural radial grooves which mate with radial ribs on the bottom of the main container so that they rotate together without slippage. A central hub on the main container lid is receivable in a central recess on the auxiliary container lid to limit relative axial movement.
An electric salad spinner device which is designed for ease of use and allows for efficient drying of salad greens, leafy vegetables and the like. The device comprises a base component, a generally cylindrical basket component, a generally cylindrical basket component, a scalable lid having a handle, an on/off switch and a drive motor. Optionally, the device also comprises a liquid dispenser assembly which may also be motorized to provide agitation and may also comprise a sheer assembly to allow for slicing in of hard vegetables such as, for example, cucumbers, carrots, celery and the like.
A salad spinner having a base which receives a basket for rotation therein. A cover mounts to the base and includes a drive plate with engages the basket to drive same. The basket includes an upper edge spaced closely to the base for stability. The basket further includes one or more access depressions permitting a user to insert a finger between the basket and base. The drive plate includes one or more drive projections which abut against the access depressions, permitting these access depressions to also be used as a portion of the drive train. The cover may be inverted to an inoperative position for reduced storage space, and a storage cap may be secured to the base to store the salad spinner, of simply the contents of the base, free from contamination.
