A device for on-line control and automatic ejection of faulty blanks moving along a conveyor wherein there is a linear ejector conveyor positioned laterally and at an acute angle to the conveyor direction and wherein the speed with which the faulty blanks are conveyed away by the ejector conveyor is related to the speed of the conveyor by the relationship
An independent motor/reductor drives a conveyance device that feeds a converting press. The converting press includes a number of stations including a feeding station, a converting station, a waste stripping station and a delivery station. The conveyance device services the stations and includes two endless gripper bar chains to convey sheet material through the converting press. A transverse drive shaft drives the conveyance device under the control of the independent motor/reductor. The independent motor/reductor provides motion trajectories for the conveyance device that are independent of, but synchronized with, the serviced stations. The arrangement improves throughput, reduces machine wear and results in a simplified design.
An apparatus for the processing and segmenting of a cover-forming laminate web or sheeting structure which is adapted to interconnect a plurality of containers, such as the base members of blister packages each of which is designed to contain a hydrophilic contact lens in a sterile aqueous solution. More specifically disclosed is an apparatus for the imprinting, perforating, slitting and cutting the laminated web structure such that the severed laminate segments constitute printed covering label for an array of such containers, and whereby the laminated web or sheeting segment may be severed along weakening or perforation lines so as to provide a separable packaging arrangement for individual of the containers which are subsequently adhered thereto.

A folding-box gluing or adhesive-bonding machine for producing folding boxes from blanks includes a folding station for folding parts of the blanks provided with a strip of adhesive. An adjoining transfer station includes at least two pairs of conveyor belts acting as a conveying device, a device for removing faulty folding boxes including a circular knife for cutting in a longitudinal conveying direction of the folding boxes and being lowered and lifted between the conveyor belts into and out of a conveying plane, and a device for laterally withdrawing side parts of the blanks severed by the longitudinal cut. The laterally withdrawing device has a flat rotary table outside and immediately adjacent one of the pairs of conveyor belts, an electric motor and at least two pressure disks. A collecting and pressing device presses the boxes having been folded flat, to set the adhesive.
A folding box gluing machine has a folding station in which portions of blanks provided with a glue strip are folded, and a subsequent transfer station which includes as a conveyor mechanism at least two pairs of conveying straps, each including an upper and a lower strap, and having a device for achieving the sideways removal of defective boxes arranged on the outside next to one pair of conveying straps. The upper conveying strap on at least one lengthwise side in the transfer station is supported in one region of its conveying path by support rollers, which are secured to a bearing plate, which is mounted with its lower edge tilted inward relative to a perpendicular plane and can move upward to a limited extent, and a guide baffle is secured on the inside next to the support rollers and extends upward from the inner edge of the upper conveying strap and is angled in the direction of the other pair of conveying straps.
