Abstract
A livestock feeder wagon includes a floor having as peripheral side wall extended upwardly therefrom to define a shallow open-topped manger for receiving and dispensing a variety of feeds. A peripheral outer rack extends upwardly from adjacent the periphery of the manger and includes a plurality of horizontally spaced apart upright outer bars, each adjacent pair defining a first feed opening. An inner rack is situated interiorly of the outer rack and includes a plurality of horizontally spaced apart inner bars extending downwardly and inwardly from the outer rack with each adjacent pair of inner bars defining a second feed opening. The lower end of each inner bar extends through a respective hole in the floor of the wagon in slide fit relation so that the inner bar is free to flex through a limited vertical movement relative to the floor whereby the inner rack acts as a shock absorber to protect both the feeder wagon and the livestock.

6691642 - Feed trough

A hay feed trough whose construction and materials render the trough more resistant to weather, as well as provides improved retention of fodder to reduce waste. The feed trough includes a support frame having longitudinal members oriented in a longitudinal direction of the trough and transverse members oriented in a transverse direction of the trough, a bin supported by and within the support frame and adapted for containing hay or other fodder material, and a one-piece platform that is removably supported beneath the bin for detachably supporting the platform from at least one of the support frame and bin. The platform is molded from a weather-resistant polymeric material, and is formed to have a sectioned configuration that provides features for supporting the platform, promoting hay retention on the platform, and separating the platform into multiple smaller platforms.

7073460 - Mobile feeder

A mobile feeder uses a wagon wheel set with a draw bar. The wheel set serves as the undercarriage for the feeder. The feeder has a plurality of arcuate supports that are spaced sufficiently to allow livestock to feed between. The arcuate supports are resiliently hung from a frame that defines the outer dimensions of the feeder and pass under a central, longitudinally extending frame bar. When impacted from an animal feeding transverse to the feeder, the arcuate supports flex resiliently, while still retaining proper spacing for both feed and animal. Resilient attachments couple the arcuate supports to frame, and links couple adjacent arcuate supports and thereby distribute forces and help to maintain spacing. Feed trays are provided beneath the arcuate supports to catch and retain any feed inadvertently escaping from the arcuate supports. The feed trays are most preferably sloped from the longitudinal center down and away from the longitudinal center, to provide gravity assist in delivering the errant feed to feeding animals.
