Abstract
A hair iron is designed to be used in straight-perming hair, especially straight-perming frizzled hair. The hair iron comprises a grip part and pressing members. Opposing surfaces of the pressing member for clasping and pressing hair have uneven faces which match each other. The uneven faces may cover the entire opposing surfaces of the pressing members or parts of them. The uneven faces give relatively large pressure on hair. Repetition of pressing and releasing hair with shifting the iron on the hair from the root to the tip causes the hair to be pressed in multiple directions so as to be deformed into a tiny waveform. Combining regular treatment with perming lotion, the repetition, and sliding the hair iron frictionally on the hair from the root to tip to stretch the hair makes the hair straight tidily.

7171970 - Hair setting device - Owned by Matsushita Electric Works Ltd. (Kadoma,JP)

A hair setting instrument is provided which can set hair easily by supplying charges through a separate path. In concrete, the hair setting instrument comprises a mechanism for setting hair of a user, and an electrostatic charger which supplies charges to a body of the user for electrostatic charges generated by a movement for setting the hair. The electrostatic charger has a charging circuit which generates a predetermined voltage, and a charging plate electrically connected to the charging circuit. Wide spreading of the hair, electrostatic cling to the face or the like, dry hair, and the damage to the hair due to charging can be prevented. Further, for example, the body of hair can be decreased by supplying negative charges when the hair is charged with positive electrostatic charges.

6708699 - Apparatus and method for grooming dreadlocks

A dreadlock grooming apparatus which includes a first elongated open channel, a second elongated open channel, apparatus for registering the first elongated open channel with the second elongated open channel in opposed relationship, and apparatus for maintaining the first and second elongated open channels at a temperature above ambient temperature for a finite time period. In some embodiments the apparatus for registering the first open channel with the second open channel in opposed relationship may include meshing surfaces on the first and second channels. The first and second channels move along an associated dreadlock.

5799671 - Curly hair curling iron

A curly hair curing iron having a jerking portion which does not exert a severing action on the hair and a stretching portion for making the hair straight. The iron is a scissors type iron having a rod housing with heaters therein. The inlet side constitutes the jerking portion having a strong gripping force. The outlet side constitutes the stretching portion having a weaker gripping force than the jerking portion. The jerking portion includes convex portions 8, 9 and 10 on one rod, and plane portions in engagement with the convex portions on the opposite rod. The stretching portion has a plurality of convex portions 11 on one rod which are square or trapezoidal in section and a plane on the other rod. Both the convex portions and the plane portions on both the jerking portion and the stretching portion are formed of an elastic material.

6386206 - Hair iron

The hair iron includes a pair of arms (12 and 14) opened and closed by a pivot (16), and each arm has a gripping portion (18) and a hair treatment portion (20). The hair treatment portions are provided with respective hair treatment members between which hair is held and pressed to hairstyle the hair. The hair treatment members are of the type of having planar top surfaces (22 and 24), or undulating top surfaces (62 and 64). An image marker of concave and convex images (26, 28, 66 and 68) are provided on the opposing surfaces of the hair treatment members, which are also supported by supporting protrusions (32 and 34) formed on the arms. When the arms are closed, the hair is held between the hair treatment members and part of the hair is also held between the image marker so that an image is imparted with the part of the hair by the pressure and temperature applied to the hair.

6895975 - Hot air hair styling device attachment - Owned by Wik Far East Ltd. (Hong Kong,CN)

An integrated hot air hair styling device with a hair care segment or a hair care segment attachable to a hair dryer is disclosed. The hair care segment has the following sections: Two articulated arms having substantially complementary facing surfaces forming a first hair styling gap. A flow channel for conducting the air stream from the hot air blower to the hair care segment and into at least one of the arms. Air escape openings connected with flow channel(s) in the arm(s). A curved outer surface on an arm with air escape openings. A hair styling finger with a complementarily curved surface is pivotably mounted to the arm with the curved surface, and extends longitudinally with this arm, forming a second hair styling gap between this arm and the hair styling finger. A brush attachment can be placed over both of arms, with air escape openings between its bristles.
