Abstract
A mobile weighing system for use on a truck or trailer to weigh a load carried by the truck or trailer. A load support frame supports a load and is positioned over the frame of the truck or trailer. A plurality of weighing cells are mounted over the truck or trailer frame in such a manner as to bear an approximately even distribution of the load. Each weighing cell comprises a lifting mechanism having an extended position and a rest position, a vertically disposed tension load cell and a linkage assembly coupling the lifting mechanism and the load cell to cause an upward force on a top end of the load cell when the lifting mechanism is extended. The bottom end of the load cell is attached to the support frame so that the support frame is suspended by the load cells when the lifting mechanisms are extended. The lifting mechanisms and linkage assemblies of the weighing cells are attached to the truck or trailer frame. A lock down mechanism integral to the load cells secures the load support frame when the lifting mechanism is in a rest position.

5635680 - On board weighing system for weighing the load borne by a vehicle - Owned by Rice Lake Bearing, Inc. (Rice Lake, WI)

In a onboard weighing system for a vehicle the load is carried by a load frame which during the transport mode rests on the vehicle support frame and for weighing, after the vehicle has come to a stop, a force is applied to raise the load frame off the vehicle support frame and onto a load cell so that the load cell will produce a signal indication of the weight of the load. As a feature the load cell is pivotally mounted in gimbal rings to compensate for any pitch or roll angles due to tilting of the vehicle and/or the load frame. As yet another feature a mechanism is provided to securely but releasably lock the load or weigh frame onto the vehicle support frame during the transport mode.

5578798 - On board vehicle weighing device having load cells - Owned by NV Nuyts ORB (Oud-Turnhout,BE)

A weighing device is mounted to a frame or chassis of a vehicle, particularly a truck. The weighing device comprises at least two weighing frames for supporting a load, such as a container and its content, to be weighed. Each weighing frame is connected to the vehicle chassis, either directly or through a supporting frame. Connecting elements are connected to the weighing frames and the vehicle chassis or the supporting and supports the weighing frames. The connecting elements have load cells to measure the weight of the load. Lifting devices are operatively connected to the weighing frames to lift the entire load away from the from the chassis during weighing, where the load is supported or suspended entirely by the connecting elements. The weighing frames, the supporting frames, the connecting elements, and the lifting devices together from a weighing unit that can be connected to the vehicle chassis.

5773768 - Transport and on-board weighing device with a stabilizer thereof - Owned by NV Nuyts Orb (Oud-Turnhout,BE)

A transport, such as a truck, has an on-board weighing device, which has at least two weighing frames for supporting a load, such as a container and its content, to be weighed. Each weighing frame is suspend relative to a transport chassis either directly or indirectly with a supporting frame, using at least one connecting element, which includes a load cell for measuring the weight of the load. The weighing frames, supporting frames, and connecting elements form a weighing unit that can be connected to the transport chassis. The weighing unit can include a separate lifting device for lifting the load away from the chassis, but is not always needed. A locking load stabilizer can be included to stabilize the load during transporting, loading, or unloading. The stabilizer can eliminate the need for a separate lifting device.

7528329 - Weighing device with lift-and put down function

A weighing system contains 1 or more weighing elements (2). The weight of the receptor/superstructure (4) with or without a load is borne by the weighing element(s) (2). At least 1 weighing elements (2) is connected with 2 fasteners (3), with one positioned in the connection between one fastening end (6) of the weighing (element2) and the framework/chassis (5) and with the other positioned in the connection between the other fastening end (7) of the weighing element (2) and the receptor/superstructure (4). At least 1 weighing element (2) is partly or entirely positioned with at least 1 of its fastening ends (6)(7) in the space between its 2 fasteners (3), with the characteristic that the weighing system has a device (1) which can lift the receptor/superstructure (4) from the framework/chassis (5) and which can deposit the receptor/superstructure (4) back on the framework/chassis (5) after weighing. The weighing system can also be manufactured and applied as on-board weighing on vehicles.

7096742 - Load support assembly and method of using same - Owned by Thames Side--Maywood Limited (GB)

An assembly for use in suspending loads from a load cell comprising: an upper part adapted to be secured to an anchor point and from which a load cell may be suspended; and a lower part adapted to be suspended from the load cell and from which a load may be suspended, in which, in use, the assembly may be used in at least two positions, including: an inoperative position in which the load cell is not fitted, where the lower part and hence the load is supported on the upper part, and an operative position in which the lower part and the load are supported only through the load cell and the lower part does not rest on the upper part. Also, an assembly for use in supporting loads on a load cell, comprising: a lower part adapted to support a load cell; and an upper part adapted to be supported by the load cell and on which a load can be supported, in which, in use, the assembly may be used in at least two positions, including: an inoperative position in which the load cell is not fitted, where the upper part, and hence the load, is supported on the lower part; and an operative position in which the upper part and the load are supported only through the load cell and the upper part does not rest on the lower part, and in which the assembly includes lifting means comprising an upper engagement member, by means of which the upper part is adapted engage the load cell and which allows controlled movement of the upper part relative to the load cell.
