A chew toy for cats and dogs includes a rope knot node and a first flexible rope arm, a second flexible rope arm, and a third flexible rope arm which depend from the rope knot node. The respective flexible rope arms include respective end knots and respective middle portions. The respective flexible rope arms include respective portions projecting from the rope knot node. A first orientation angle is located between a first portion and a second portion and is approximately sixty degrees. A second orientation angle is located between the second portion and a third portion and is approximately sixty degrees. A third orientation angle is located between the first portion and the third portion and is approximately one hundred twenty degrees. A flavor distribution assembly may be supported by the rope knot node and the respective rope arms. A light source assembly may be attached to the receptacle assembly for providing light to the chew toy. The receptacle assembly is shaped in the form of a hemisphere which includes a planar, circular side. The bottom portion of the receptacle assembly is transparent, and the first distributor tube, the second distributor tube, and the third distributor tube are transparent. The light source assembly includes a hemispherically shaped housing member which is connected to the hemispherically shaped receptacle assembly. The hemispherically shaped housing member is also transparent.
A play and chew toy for dogs comprising a rope portion and soft squeezable fleece portion carried by the rope portion. The rope portion of the toy defines a length of rope formed with a plurality of threads of a soft pliable material, preferably cotton, and defines a pair of knots tightly formed therein adjacent the extended ends of the rope. The fleece portion includes an outer shell of a soft material which encases a supply of soft synthetic fill material and extends about one of the knots on the rope. The shell is sewn about the shaft portion of the rope adjacent the knot therein so as to seal the shell about the fill material therein and secure the rope portion of the toy to the fleece portion.
There is provided an edible dental care article, that is so palatable to the taste of pets, clears residual food in the pet's mouth while chewed by a pet, thereby not only preventing adhesion of plaque and formation of dental calculus but giving a massage to the pet's gum. The edible dental care article for pets is characterized in that a casing material is processed in a thread-like manner, a string-like manner, or a thin-tube-like manner; one of the casing material or a combination of the casing material of several kinds, preferably combined with thread-like other proteins, carbohydrates or lipids, is twisted in a string-like manner; cord-like members are tied into a bundle or twisted together so as to make a rope-like member of a prescribed shape in conformity with the kind or size of a pet, with the twists of the rope-like member being treated so as not to loosen.
A therapeutic chew device for aiding against periodontal disease in dogs which includes a length of rope formed of a plurality of polyester yarns with knots near the opposite ends of the rope and a chewable rawhide disk, including a compressed rawhide chew impregnated with activated charcoal, attached to the length of rope between the two knot. As the dog chews on the rope, the plurality of polyester yarns massage and stimulate the gums while individual loose yarn ends provide cleaning and flossing action for the teeth. In addition, as the dog chews on the charcoal impregnated rawhide disk, the activated charcoal is slowly released and absorbs odors and bacteria to clean and freshen the dog's breath.
