Abstract
A tractor steel post driver comprising an elongated driving assembly having an upper cylindrical pipe and a lower pipe, a bracket formed of two small parallel plates, each of the plates having a free end, each of plates having an aperture therethrough with a pin positioned through the aperture of the plates and apertures at the upper end of the upper pipe with the pipe located between the plates; a pair of collar bolts positioned with their head ends interior of the lower pipes and extending radially outward through lower apertures in the lower pipe; and a collar having a cylindrical upper extent with downwardly extending recesses formed therein adapted to receive the ends of the collar bolts exterior of the tube but interiorly of the nuts with a circular plate at its lower extent having an enlarged diameter to function as a stop when used in driving posts, the collar and plate having an axial aperture for receiving the upper end of a post to be driven by inserting its upper end through the plate and lower half of the collar to the point where contact is made between the upper end of the post and the lower end of the lower pipe.

5863154 - Method and apparatus for installing ground rods

A ground rod installation device and method as shown for pressing ground rods into the earth using hydraulic drilling equipment. The device has a plunger mechanism attachable to a Kelly Bar of the hydraulic drilling equipment utilizing a removable pin, a first cylindrical telescoping member through which the plunger is slidably attached, and a second telescoping member through which the first telescoping member is slidably attached. The ground rod is inserted into the fully extended telescoping members, placed above the desired location and driven into the ground without pre-drilling, pre-placing holes and in one substantially continuous drive stroke.

6896071 - Drive systems and methods for sheet piles

A drive system for driving a sheet pile member at a desired location in the ground. The drive system comprises a source of pressurized air, an actuator system defining a drive axis, and an adapter member. The actuator system comprises a housing assembly having an inlet port connected to the source of pressurized air and a piston member adapted to move along the drive axis relative to the housing assembly. The adapter member is rigidly connected to the housing assembly. The adapter member further defines at least a first pair of first and second guide slots. In use, the sheet pile member is arranged at the desired location. The adapter member is arranged such that the first and second guide slots at least partly receive portions of the sheet pile member. The pressurized air causes the piston member to move along the drive axis. The piston member impacts the sheet pile member as the piston member moves along the drive axis, thereby displacing the sheet pile member along the drive axis into the ground at the desired location.

7597156 - Mechanical tee post driver

A mechanical fence post driver for attachment to a lift arm of a standard front-loader which includes a mounting plate, guide tube, and roller latch assembly. The guide tube receives a tee or other fence post inserted therein such that it contacts the mounting plate. The fence post is held in place by a roller latch assembly which compresses the post against the rearward side of the guide tube. Insertion of the fence post into the ground is accomplished by lowering the lift arm while the post is held within the guide cylinder. A rotation plate assembly may be positioned between the mounting plate and guide cylinder to provide a convenient mechanism to rotate the guide cylinder in relation to the mounting plate.

6889777 - Implement for driving posts - Owned by Thumpers, Inc. (Sheridan, WY)

A post driving implement for use with a vehicle, such as a tractor or a skid loader, is disclosed. The post driving implement is comprised of a hammer, a hammer channel, and a hammer cylinder. The hammer travels longitudinally within the hammer channel and is lifted by the hammer cylinder mounted to a closed end of the hammer channel. The hammer cylinder and its associated plumbing is of sufficient size to function as a hydraulic reservoir for the post driving implement, thus eliminating the need for a third hydraulic line to the reservoir on the vehicle and to avoiding need for alteration of the vehicle's reservoir. The post driving implement of the present invention may also include a back plate for mounting the implement to a vehicle. Additionally, the post driving implement may include adjustment mechanisms to vary the positional and angular relationship between the vehicle and the implement.
