An improved animal litter preparation is provided for attracting a household domesticated animal and for absorbing liquids and liquid-containing waste released by the attracted animal. The litter preparation comprises a plurality of preformed and nontoxic liquid absorbing masses of solid matter each comprised of an absorbent substance, at least one releaser pheromone compound which is a biological attractant for the animal, and at least one blending agent.
An improved animal lure and cover scent process and product employs a combustible absorbent material impregnated with an aromatic substance having fragrance attractive to an animal, with the absorbent material being of restricted combustibility such that the absorbent material tends to smoke without producing a flame as it burns, the smoke entraining the fragrance with it as it travels through the air. The combustible absorbent material of the present invention is in the form of an incense stick wherein a cellulosic material formed from sawdust is coated on one end of a combustible bamboo stick. A weather shield protects the incense stick from wind and rain.
Granular absorbent material for a pet animal, each grain thereof comprising a core formed from absorbent material, a liquid-impermeable partition sheet parting the core into upper and lower halves and a liquid-permeable sheet covering the core.
A composition for a granular solid possessing superior absorbancy for absorbing oils. The composition includes perlite plaster aggregate, corn starch, and sodium bicarbonate, all being dry and powdered. Proportions of the constituent materials is nine parts by volume perlite aggregate, two parts by volume corn starch, and one part by volume sodium bicarbonate.
A urine pH indicator has a plurality of hydrophilic, non-ionic, polymer foam carrier particles. The carrier particles are impregnated with an indicator complex having more than one chromophore and indicating more than one pH threshold via at least three distinguishable colors. The carrier particles are preferable chopped and soaked in a solution containing the chromophore complex. Upon evaporation of the solvent, the chromophore complex is bound to the carrier particles which can then be spread upon animal litter to receive urine and indicate pH via color display.
An article useful for attracting canines and inducing them to eliminate in a preferred outdoor area, the article desirably having a molded polymeric body and a canine attractant dispersed within the body, coated on a portion of the body or contained inside a cavity in the body, the canine attractant being adapted for release into the surrounding atmosphere over a prolonged period.
