A perfumed composition is described containing a cationic phospholipid, a perfume base having microbial action, and a fatty alcohol having 10 to 22 carbon atoms, extremely useful in deodorants and antiperspirants. Its anti-microbial activity is greater than that of known compositions, and can be measured by the direct spray method using the device shown in the FIGURE.
A method for reducing or preventing body malodour by topically applying to human skin perfumery materials capable of inhibiting the production of malodorous metabolites caused by micro-organisms comprising corynebacteria. The perfumery materials are capable of inactivating corynebacteria capable of catabolising fatty acids.
An antimicrobial perfume compositions that contain a perfume ingredient having antimicrobial activity of at least 80% as measured by the "agar surface coating test," the "vapor phase test," or by the "direct spray method." The active ingredient is grapefruit-pip, a fumitory extract, a fumaric acid or an ester of fumaric acid or lactic acid.
A perfumed product containing an antibacterial agent and a perfume material is prepared. The perfumed product can contain triclosan as the antibacterial agent and a mixture of perfume materials such as Amberlyn Super PM 577, clover leaf, dihydro myrcenol, phenyl propyl alcohol and terpineol alpha.
Improved wet combability of hair is achieved by aqueous colorants for keratin fibers, such as pelts and human hair, based on oxidation dye precursors, which are mixed with a peroxide-containing composition, immediately before use, containing at least one developer substance and at least one coupler substance, and also tris(3-N,N-dimethyl-N-linolenamidopropyl-2-hydroxyammoniumpropyl)phosphori c acid ester-trichloride as a hair care composition. The colored keratin fibers do not show the customary known damage.
The invention concerns a fatty alcohol obtainable by a method which consists in reducing the carbonyl function of a vegetable or animal oil, the method consisting in reacting said vegetable or animal oil with appropriate amounts of polymethylhydroxysiloxane (PMHS) in the presence of a catalytic system prepared from a metal salt or complex and a reduction agent, followed by hydrolysis of the resulting siloxane with a basic agent and separating and purifying the desired alcohol thus formed. Said alcohol can be used in a perfume composition, in particular as solubilizing agent.
