Newly developed polymeric materials are presented in a form of pellet, thread, sponge, rubber, or plate acting as a damper for shear mode and an absorber against outside noise. These materials provide multiple functions of damping, sound absorbency and insulation performance at audio frequency.
An acoustically effective, bituminous mass which can be applied hot by means of a flat extrusion mold contains an addition of a thermosetting resin or thermosetting reagent combination, plus bitumen, polymers and/or wax as well as fillers such as aluminum powder or zinc powder, powdered graphite or mica powder. This addition is added to the mass at temperatures under 125.degree. C., so that the polymerization reaction does not occur until a subsequent heating.
An acoustic testing device is relatively small enough and light enough to be transported from business to business and room to room, and yet still has acoustic characteristics sufficient to characterize a test item's noise profile in a relatively short period of time. The device preferably achieves this result by providing inner and outer housings coupled through noise and vibration isolation, the inner housing having at least some mutually non-orthogonal walls, and the sound detection apparatus comprising spatially translating microphones.
Disclosed is a process for producing branched polymers including at least 50 mol % C.sub.3 C.sub.40 olefins. The process may include: (1) feeding a first catalyst, an activator, and one or more C.sub.2 C.sub.40 olefins into a first reaction zone at a temperature of greater than 70.degree. C. and a residence time of 120 minutes or less to produce a product; (2) feeding the product a second catalyst, and an activator into a second reaction zone at a temperature of greater than 70.degree. C., and a residence time of 120 minutes or less. One of the catalysts should be chosen to produce a polymer having a weight average molecular weight of 100,000 or less and a crystallinity of 20% or less. The other catalyst should be chosen to producing a polymer having a weight average molecular weight of 100,000 or less and a crystallinity of 20% or more.
This invention relates to a polymer of one or more C3 to C40 olefins, optionally one or more diolefins, and less than 15 mole % of ethylene, and polymerization processes for producing the same.
Disclosed herein is an adhesive composition comprising a blend functionalized with a functional group, wherein the blend comprises a C3 to C40 olefin polymer and an additive, the C3 to C40 olefin polymer comprising at least 50 mol % of one or more C3 to C40 olefins, and where the C3 to C40 olefin polymer has: a Dot T-Peel of 1 Newton or more on Kraft paper; an Mw of 10,000 to 100,000; and a branching index (g') of 0.98 or less measured at the Mz of the polymer when the polymer has an Mw of 10,000 to 60,000, or a branching index (g') of 0.95 or less measured at the Mz of the polymer when the polymer has an Mw of 10,000 to 100,000. A process of producing the adhesive composition, as well as methods of utilizing the adhesive composition are also disclosed.
