A centrally-bored, elongate body slidably receives rope therethrough, and a rope end tethers a ball thereat. At a handle end of the body, a clothesline tightener or foreshortener is used to clasp the handle-confined portion of the rope to prevent its movement through the body, however by withdrawal of the hollow shaft of the clothesline tightener, the rope is unclasped and can freely be drawn out of a pay out end of the handle, to lengthen the ball-tethered portion thereof, or drawn out of the handle end to foreshorten the ball-tethered portion thereof. The clothesline tightener is slidably and snugly held in the central bore of the body at the handle end thereof.

A batting practice device with adjustable mounting means comprises a support pole having an inboard end including mounting devices and an outboard end including a swivel joint; the swivel joint comprising a plurality of swivel hooks with a projection member, an eye screw and a central swivel member, the eye screw having a first end formed in a generally circular configuration and a second end formed as a screw, the second end being coupled to the outboard end of the support pole, the first swivel hook being positioned within the first end of the eye screw with its projection member coupled to the central swivel member, the projection member of the second swivel hook being coupled to the central swivel member; and a ball, a rope being coupled to the ball and secured to the second swivel hook of the swivel device.

A batting practice device for use by a person acting as a pitcher and another person acting as a batter. A pole has a first end placed on the ground and a second end held substantially vertically. The pole is longer than the height of the pitcher, but is not permanently mounted in the ground. The pitcher prevents substantial movement of the first end of the pole by placing a foot in an anchoring loop provided at the first end of the pole. A line is operatively attached, via a freely rotating mount, to the second end of the pole. The line has a swivel connection to prevent twisting of the line. The line is operatively connected to a ball via a ball harness. The ball harness has two straps sewn together, with the ends of the respective straps having loops for receiving one end of the line. Various sizes of conventional balls can be easily inserted and removed from the ball harness.

A sight cover for a sight, e.g. a gun sight, comprises first and second lens covers for the eyepiece and objective ends of the sight. The longitudinally displaced covers have three elastic cords extending in tension between the covers when the covers are in place. One elastic cord running adjacent the top of the sight is shorter than the other two cords causing a greater tension therein. On flipping the eyepiece end cover towards the top of the sight the top cord urges the eyepiece cover up and over the sight. The return of the three cords to their normal, untensioned positions springily displaces not only the cover from the objective end of the sight but also the entire sight cover away from the sight. The sight cover is tethered at one end to the rifle or the like.

A sport training device for eye-hand coordination and reflexes having a target tethered to a handle is disclosed. Variations in the handle as well as the target create changes in the pathway of the target so as to enhance training. Various swivels between the handle and the target enable the target to be rotated in a relatively circular pathway without causing the tether to twist or tangle.
