An emulsion composition for flameproof foam sheet which comprises components (A)-(C) wherein the amount of component (B) is 5-50 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of component (A) (based on solid content), and the amount of component (C) is 50-350 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of component (A) (based on solid content): (A): An emulsion of ethylene-vinyl ester copolymer which is composed of 5-35% by weight of (a.sub.1) ethylene and 95-65% by weight of (a.sub.2) vinyl ester and, whose glass transition temperature is -25.degree. C.-+15.degree. C. and toluene-insoluble part is 30% or more by weight; (B): Thermal expansive hollow micro bead; (C): Inorganic filler. The emulsion composition of the invention, which does not contain vinyl chloride-containing copolymer, which generates poisonous chloride gas at the time of disposal by burning, is superior in mechanical strength, crack resistance, water resistance, alkali resistance, blocking resistance, foaming property and embossing property, which are required as the essential properties for foam wall paper, and further superior in flame resistance, and can be used for flameproof foam sheet for wall paper.
An aqueous emulsion having excellent water resistant property and comprising a copolymer obtainable by polymerizing ethylene and vinyl ester, and a nonionic polyoxyalkylene surface active agent, wherein the nonionic polyoxyalkylene surface active agent comprises 1 to 10 parts by weight of polyoxyalkylene alkyl ether and 0.01 part by weight or less of polyoxyalkylene phenyl ether based on 100 parts by weight of vinyl ester units in the copolymer is provided.
A magnet receptive medium comprises a sheet having a first surface, a second surface, and an interior between the first surface and the second surface. At least one pathway between at least one of the surfaces and through the interior is formed. Magnetic particles of a predetermined size sufficient to pass through the pathways exist in such pathways. A binding agent may bind the particles to the interior.
Compositions and methods of making the same, the compositions including a binder, solvent for the binder, humectant, wax, an emulsifier for the wax, filler, a cross-linking agent for the binder, and various additives. The binder preferably is polyvinyl alcohol. The filler preferably includes glass microspheres, talc and flour. The wax preferably includes paraffin and microcrystalline waxes.
