Abstract
The outer surface of an article is covered with a wrapping film, and both ends of the wrapping film are lap-welded by heating, so that a body seal section is created. An unbonded part is formed on the periphery of the edge of an upper overlapping film of the wrapping film along the marginal line of the same. This unbonded part extends between the marginal line of the upper overlapping film and the edge of the body seal section. A slit is formed in the vicinity of the unbonded part at right angles to the marginal line of the upper overlapping film. A weakly bonded part, where the upper overlapping film and the lower overlapping film are weakly bonded to each other, is formed to be adjacent to the opposite side of the unbonded part of the body seal section relative to the slit, and extends from that side of the unbonded part to a predetermined length along a marginal line of the upper overlapping film.

5921464 - Packaging body - Owned by Sony Corporation (Tokyo,JP)

A package for wrapping an object in which an outer packaging film can be positively unsealed without damaging the object or by using a strong force during unsealing. A non-adhered part which becomes an opening tap (10) for unsealing is formed in a part of an overlapped portion of an outer packaging film (2), weakly adhered parts (11a), (11b) each having a low degree of adhesiveness are formed at left and right sides of the opening tap (10), and a slit (12) is provided in one weakly adhered part only (11a) which allows for the outer packaging film (2) to be torn easily.

5749466 - Packaging method and packaging structure for articles such as those having rectangular parallelepiped shape - Owned by Sony Corporation (Tokyo,JP)

A packaging structure for packaging a packaged article having a rectangular parallelpiped shape, such as a tape cassette accommodating case and a disc cartridge accommodating case includes an adhesive portion and at least one non-adhesive portion formed on a portion wherein one end of a film-shaped packaging material overlaps the other end of the film-shaped packaging material when the packaged article having a rectangular parallelpiped shape is packaged by the film-shaped packaging material. The packaged article is packaged by bonding the adhesive portion and the non-adhesive portion is left as an unwrapping start portion.

5797492 - Information storage medium packaging body - Owned by Sony Corporation (JP) Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd. (JP)

An information storage medium packaging body comprises a case 30 for containing an information storage medium, a packaging film 10 for packing the case 30, and the packaging film 10 includes a heat shrinkable film 11. A hologram layer 20 is formed on a front surface of the heat shrinkable film 11. An offset preventing layer 23 and a printed pattern layer 12 are formed on the back surface of the heat shrinkable layer 11.

5979651 - Self adhering wrapper

A self adhering wrapper including a gift box. The gift box has a bottom wall and a top wall. The top wall and bottom wall have a pair of planar vertical long walls with a pair of opposed planar vertical short walls extended therebetween. A sheet of material is included. The sheet of material has a front surface and a back surface, and is sized to conform to the top wall when positioned over the bottom wall. Included is a pressure sensitive adhesive material. The adhesive material is adhered to the back surface of the sheet material, and forms a continuous adhesive frame about the sheet and with a hollow rectangular interior. Wherein the adhesive material when attached to the gift box, wraps around the top wall and over the bottom wall. This causes portions of the adhesive material to engage and attach to portions of the wrapping material for generally detachably securing the sheet of material.

5837336 - Film-wrapped articles with improved opening properties - Owned by TDK Corporation (Tokyo,JP)

A film-wrapped article consisting of a rectangular product wrapped with a heat-shrinkable plastic film in intimate contact therewith, the upper and under edge portions of the film being overlapped and sealed together along the body of the wrap to form a seal. A part of the seal on one side of the article is formed as a weakly joined zone whose adhesion strength increases by continuous or stepwise gradations from an opening zone where the adhesion strength is the lowest toward the both ends of the article. The weakly joined zone is made up of joined and unjoined regions extending along the interface between the upper and under edge portions, in a repetitive pattern of the regions varying in adhesion strength with changes in the area ratio of the joined and unjoined regions. The wrap has a cut for unwrapping use made in the opening or neighboring zone of the upper edge portion.
