Abstract
Materials and arrangements in development for a special swing. A pair of pyramid style support posts anchored at its prospective plane by means of concrete or plates, said support post secures a horizontal support bar at their tops. The horizontal support bar has its length and the width of the support post, and in its center, two block or sleeve bearings being attached to a pair of upright vertical solid bars spaced in width as that of the seat, in length to that of the height of the swing, incorporating a seat at their prospective lower ends, being threaded to secure the seat and safety straps, and the unique feature is a pair of double-swivel eyes interlocked, with adjustable stops on each upright bar the distance above the seat at hip level.

6669394 - Swing attachment - Owned by Hedstrom Corporation (Bedford, PA)

An attachment for attaching the upper end of a swing device to a raised top bar. The attachment includes a pair of arcuate slide sections having opposite ends in mating engagement to form a circular slide, a U-bolt having a pair of parallel threaded end segments connected by a curved bridging portion slidably engaged in the slide, a generally V-shaped saddle bracket whose arms have first ends connected by a saddle, spaced-apart second ends containing through holes for receiving the end segments of the U-bolt and a pair of opposing sliders projecting from the bracket arms for slidably engaging in the slide, and at least one nut for threadedly engaging an end segment of the U-bolt. The attachment enables a chain or other swing suspension device that is secured to the bracket to pivot 360.degree. around the top bar.

6830517 - Rotating attachment device for a swing

A rotating attachment device for attaching the upper end of a swing to a support bar generally comprises and inner bearing and an outer bearing. The inner bearing comprises at least two inner bearing arc segment members for direct placement on the cross bar, each including an outer side including a raceway including a radial bearing surface. The outer bearing includes a first and second semi-cylindrical outer bearing members including an inner side having a bearing surface, pivotly connected first ends such that the outer bearing is pivotable between an open position for fitting over the first bearing and a closed position bearing on the inner bearing such that the outer bearing is rotatable 360 degrees about the swing support bar, and second ends including a latch for latching the outer bearing around the inner bearing in the closed position.

6123480 - Anti-wrap device for swing set - Owned by Little Tikes Commerical Play Systems, Inc. (Farmington, MO)

A device (10) for preventing a swing from being wrapped over a crossbar (18) of a swing set includes a base (12) and a sleeve (14) rotatably carried by the base (12). The base (12) includes a pair of collars (20) that each have a seat portion (22) bounded by a shoulder (26) at one edge. The collars (20) are attached to the crossbar (18) so that the seat portions (22) abut and cooperate to form a seat (42) that is bounded by the shoulders (26). The sleeve (14) rides on the seat (42) between the shoulders (26). The sleeve (14) is non-concentric and includes a tab (60) that angularly extends radially outwardly from the sleeve (14). The tab (60) has a hole (62) that accepts a bolt (64) that connects a chain (16) of the swing to the device (10).

6319138 - Open top infant swing - Owned by Evenflo Company, Inc. (Vandalia, OH)

The present invention is an electrically driven open top infant swing comprising a crossbar that does not extend directly over the top of the infant swing. Thus, as opposed to other prior art swing designs utilizing crossbars, the crossbar of the present invention provides excellent stability and rigidity to the swing described and claimed herein while still allowing relatively easy access to an infant seated in the swing seat. Additionally, the present invention provides an infant swing that is coupled to an electric drive motor by a "moving pivot" thereby allowing the swing to pivot independently of the drive motor and thus avoiding undue strain on the swing motor and gearing.

6974388 - Sail for a swing

A swing with a sail is disposed between lines or chains from which the swing is suspended. The sail is disposed above the heads of the occupants of the swing when the occupants are seated in the swing. A large plane of the sail is suspended generally vertically, so that the sail's large surface area disrupts and moves the air as the swing moves back and forth, so as to create a cooling breeze. The sail is removably mounted to the chains or lines.
