Abstract
A rack assembly for use in racking billiard balls on a billiards table. The rack assembly has a racking frame made of rail elements that define a periphery of a given shape into which the pool balls are to be arranged. The bottom edge of each of the rails terminates in a common plane. As such, the racking frame is capable of laying flush on the flat surface of the pool table. A rotator handle is coupled to the racking frame. The rotator handle is a rocker element having a first end, a second end and a curved surface disposed between the first end and the second end. The first end of the rocker element is joined to the racking frame. The curved surface of the rocker element intersects the plane shared by the bottom of the racking frame at a tangent. As a result, when a generally downward force is applied to the second end of the rocker element, the rocker element rocks in one direction along the curved surface. As the curved surface rolls along the surface of the pool table, the first end of the rocker element is move upwardly, thereby lifting the racking frame off of the pool table in a manner that does not disturb the pool balls contained within the racking frame.

6312342 - Billiard rack

A pocket pool or billiard rack that incorporates in its rearmost side outwardly and angularly extending lever portions that permit upward rotation of the billiard rack upon the application of downward pressure with the thumbs or other fingers prior to removal of the billiard rack from about the balls in the ball racking operation. According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, cut outs or reliefs are provided in the interior walls of the billiard rack below the points of contact of the billiard rack with the balls to further facilitate the rotational removal of the billiard rack from about the balls.

5487474 - Device for displaying articles - Owned by FAPEC (Montmorency,FR)

The display cabinet includes a fixed frame with front vertical stanchions 2 bearing fixed load or feeding bars 20 which support the front end of display racks 22. A mobile frame including rear vertical stanchions 10 is able to move vertically with respect to the fixed frame and bears load bars 25 supporting the rear end of the racks 22. A motor borne by the fixed frame rotary-drives an endless screw engaged in a nut integral with the mobile frame so that, depending on its direction of rotation, the motor moves the mobile frame either upwards or downwards. In the top position of the mobile frame, the racks 22 are slanted forwards by propelling the bottles 35 they contain by means of gravity in this direction. When the mobile frame is in the bottom position, the racks are slanted towards the rear allowing for easy loading, the bottles 35 being propelled via their weight towards the rear.

5871405 - Pool ball racking system

A pool ball racking system for tightly and evenly racking a set of pool balls in preparation for a beginning player's break. The system comprises an equilateral triangular racking frame within which the set of pool balls are placed. The racking frame is placed upon a napped felt surface of a pool table, with the pool balls located therein. A vibrating device secured to the racking frame is activated and causes the pool balls to resonate and settle into the nap of the felt surface, thus firmly setting the pool balls in place.
