A toiletry composition for hair care which is not irritative to the hair and skin and has an excellent conditioning effect and which comprises: (a) a quaternary ammonium salt compound which contains aliphatic chains and, bonded to the aliphatic chain(s), a secondary or tertiary amino group and a quaternary ammonium group, and further which optionally contains an ether, an ester or an acyl group bonded within the aliphatic chain; (b) an anionic surfactant; and (c) a water soluble polymer, and optionally (d) an alkylsaccharide surfactant.
A hair conditioning shampoo composition containing: (a) a quaternary ammonium component; (b) an emulsifier component; (c) an amphoteric surfactant component; (d) an alkyl polyglycoside of formula I: wherein R.sub.1 is a monovalent organic radical having from about 6 to about 30 carbon atoms; R.sub.2 is a divalent alkylene radical having from 2 to 4 carbon atoms; Z is a saccharide residue having 5 or 6 carbon atoms; b is a number having a value from 0 to about 12; a is a number having a value from 1 to about 6; (e) an emollient component; (f) water; (g) an anionic surfactant component; (h) an amide component; and (i) an electrolyte component.

Foaming emulsions comprising: (A) oily mixture comprising fatty alcohols polyglycol ethers, Guerbet alcohols, and fatty acid esters selected from the group consisting of: (a) a fatty ester of formula III, wherein R.sup.2 CO is an aliphatic acyl radical containing 6 to 22 carbon atoms and 0, 1, 2 or 3 double bonds and R.sup.3 is a linear or branched alkyl radical containing 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and (b) a polyol partial ester of glycerol, oligoglycerol or oligoglycerol polyglycol ether with fatty acids containing 12 to 22 carbon atoms; dialkyl ethers and paraffin hydrocarbons, (B) fatty alcohol sulphates and/or fatty alcohol polyglycol ether sulphates, (C) an anionic polymer, (D) an alkyl oligoglycosides, (E) a cationic surfactant or polymers, (F) an electrolytic salt, and (G) water. These emulsions have a cosmetically elegant appearance and are suitable for example for producing two-in-one shower baths.
Liquid compositions containing one or more anionic surfactants in combination with one or more polydiallyl dialkyl ammonium compounds or derivatives or copolymers thereof, these compositions being suitable for the production of liquid laundry detergents, preferably for dye-transfer-inhibiting liquid color-protecting detergents.
A cleaning additive containing (a) from about 8 to about 16% by weight of a nonionic sugar surfactant selected from the group consisting of alkyl glucose esters, aldobionamides, gluconamides, glyceramides, glyceroglycolipids, polyhydroxy fatty acid amides, an alkyl polyglycoside of formula I: wherein R.sub.1 is a monovalent organic radical having from about 6 to about 30 carbon atoms; R.sub.2 is divalent alkylene radical having from 2 to 4 carbon atoms; Z is a saccharide residue having 5 or 6 carbon atoms; b is a number having a value from 0 to about 12; a is a number having a value from 1 to about 6, and mixtures thereof; (b) from about 3 to about 7% by weight of a C.sub.8 -C.sub.16 quaternary ammonium salt; and (c) remainder water, all weights being based on the weight of the additive.
