A communication system comprising a controller (1) arranged for service implementation. The controller (1) is arranged for extracting a service logical program from a data bank (3) after the controller has received parameters transmitted by a terminal unit (6), and for activating a service in response to a service logical program and second parameters and, in response to a service logical program and first parameters, for providing a service for a subscriber and for transmitting at least one service parameter to the terminal unit (6, 8) and/or, in response to a service logical program and fourth parameters, for deleting a subscriber's authorization to use a service.
The invention concerns a method for the providing of messages for subscriber information for services in a communication network, as well as a service control facility (SCP1), a service support system (IP1), a service access arrangement, a service switching point and a service system for the execution of this method. The messages for subscriber information, for instance, voice announcements or speech texts, are managed centrally from the service control facility (SCP1). Only by need are the messages for subscriber information loaded into the service support system (IP1) from the service control facility (SCP1, SCP2). One of the messages loaded into the service support system (IP1) is only sent to a subscriber of the communication network subsequent to a transmitted demand message from the service control facility (SCP1) to the service support system (IP1).
A voice mail service apparatus directly registering mail numbers received from service users as a technique for designating the mail number of the service user facilitates accommodation of a larger number of service subscribers. This voice mail service uses a telephone exchange station for analyzing a concerned mail number and performing a call connection, when a voice mailing service is requested; a mail gateway for verifying the mail number which is analyzed in the telephone exchange station; a call distributor for analyzing a digit of the mail number which is verified in the mail gateway and inputted thereto, in order to sequentially distribute a call to a plurality of voice mailing units; and a server for checking whether the mail number is newly registered, in order to transmit registered information to the plurality of voice mailing units, the server being connected to the plurality of voice mailing units.
A customer administrative system is interfaced with one or more database network elements having unique subscriber creation or deletion policies. An agent is included within the interface to process a received generic subscriber creation or deletion command originated by a customer administrative system. Responsive thereto, the one or ones of the database network elements implicated by the command are identified and issued, in accordance with the appropriate unique policy for each identified database network element, the required individual database network element specific commands necessary to effectuate the subscriber creation or deletion activity.
A system by which external users, such as subscribers and service providers, can update their service data is disclosed. The system permits users to update their service data in a secure and controlled manner on a self-service basis in an intelligent network or other telecommunications network. An access system separate from the actual telecommunications services managing network elements is implemented in the invention, the access system providing the customers and service providers with an open interface to these network elements through a public data network. The access system controls access to the actual network elements by, for example, authenticating the party requesting access, checking whether the requesting party is associated with the data he/she desires to manipulate, and/or checking to which processing operations the requesting party is entitled. The users can thus access their own service data in the network elements managing the data in a manner controlled by the access system.
A customer administrative system of a wireless communications system is interfaced with one or more system database network elements to support single command meta-service activation and management tasks. In this regard, a meta-service comprises a package of individual services. An agent is included in the interface to process single meta-service command for handling by the database network elements. The database network elements supporting the individual services implicated by the meta-service command are identified and are issued appropriately formatted, device specific commands for effectuating the meta-service activation or management task. In the event that each implicated database network element cannot successfully complete the requisite meta-service activation or management task, the service provision state of each implicated database network element is rolled-back to a service provision state prior to receipt of the meta-service command.
