A hair cosmetic composition including (a) at least one compound selected from fatty acids containing a linear or branched alkyl or alkenyl group having 12-40 carbon atoms, salts thereof and fatty acid esters composed of one of the fatty acids and a polyhydric alcohol; (b) at least one aromatic alcohol represented by the general formula (1): ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 means a hydrogen atom or a methyl or methoxy group, Y denotes a single bond or a linear or branched alkylene or alkenylene group having 1-3 carbon atoms, Z is a hydrogen atom or a hydroxyl group, and p and q stand individually for a number of 0-5; and (c) at least one cationic surfactant. The hair cosmetic composition has neither sticky nor oily feel to the touch, is excellent in hair-conditioning effects of, for example, giving users a moistured feel of the hair and imparting softness and smoothness to the hair, gives resilience to the hair and is superb in effects of preventing damage to the hair and of keeping the waves or curls of the hair beautiful.

An aqueous peroxide composition for coloring or lightening hair comprising (a) 1-99% of an aqueous phase containing (ii) 1-55% by weight of the total composition of water, (ii) 1-45% hydrogen peroxide, and (iii) a water soluble cosolvent; and (b) 0.1-60% of an oil phase; and (c) 1-65% of an organic, amphiphilic, surface active ingredient capable of interacting with the water phase and the oil phase to form lyotropic liquid crystals containing said water phase ingredients; a method for coloring or lightening hair using the peroxide composition, and a method for reducing the amount of time necessary to permanently color hair using the peroxide composition.
A water in oil microemulsion peroxide composition for coloring or lightening of hair comprising 1-99% of an aqueous phase in the form of dispersed microdroplets having a droplet size of 100 to 1500 Angstroms, 0.1-75% of a continuous oil phase; and 1-65% of an organic, surface active ingredient capable of interacting with the water phase and the oil phase to cause formation of the dispersed aqueous phase microdroplets, all percentages by weight of the total composition; and a method for coloring or lightening hair using the peroxide composition, and a method for reducing the amount of time necessary to permanently color hair using the peroxide composition.
Detergent and conditioning compositions comprising, in a cosmetically acceptable medium, (A) a washing base comprising at least one anionic surfactant and at least one amphoteric surfactant and (B) at least one aminated silicone having an amine number greater than or equal to 0.4 meq/g, the amphoteric surfactant/anionic surfactant ratio by weight being greater than or equal to 0.2. The use of detergent and conditioning compositions for cleaning and for caring of the hair or the skin.
