Abstract
A quick connector for forming a joint in a fluid line consists of a female connector body having a bore which receives a male member. A sleeve surrounds and is secured on the male member in close fitting relation with the male member and with the female connector body. A retainer extends between the sleeve and a radial face formed in the connector body to secure the male member in the connector body. A secondary retainer provides enhanced retention capability. An optional plug may be positioned in the bore entrance to prevent introduction of external contaminants.

5975591 - Coupling bodies

The disclosure relates to a tube coupling body (13) of circular external cross-section having an internal throughway open at one end to receive a tube with a collet form tube locking device in the open end of the throughway to lock a tube in the coupling body. The coupling body has on its outer side an encircling groove spaced from said one end of the body and a grab ring mounted in the groove of V-shaped cross-section facing the axial direction of the ring towards said one end of the coupling body. One limb of the V-shaped grab ring is lodged in the groove and the other limb projects from the groove at its free end for gripping engagement in a bore in which the coupling body is inserted.

6497433 - Coupling assemblies for providing fluid connection - Owned by TI Group Automotive Systems Corporation (Warren, MI)

A coupling assembly comprising a female connector body, a male member, a retainer and a dust barrier with integral secondary latch. The female connector body defines a bore extending axially inwardly into the body from an entrance. A radial face is defined in the bore axially inwardly of the entrance. The male member is received within the bore and having a radially enlarged annular upset. The retainer has at least two locking beams extending between the upset and the radial face to retain the male member in the bore. The locking beams define a slot between said locking beams. The dust barrier with integral secondary latch is slidably mounted on the male member axially outward of the retainer. The dust barrier has a skirt surrounding the entrance. The dust barrier further has at least one leg extending axially inward into the bore engaging the radial face to secure the dust barrier to the female connector body. The leg fits within the slot between the locking beams so as to prevent inadvertent radially inward movement of the locking beams.

6173994 - Coupling assemblies for providing fluid connection - Owned by TI Group Automotive Systems Corp. (Warren, MI)

A coupling assembly comprising a female connector body, a male member, a retainer and a dust barrier. The female connector body defines a bore extending axially inward into the connector body from an entrance. A radial face is defined in the bore axially inward of the entrance. The male member is received within said bore. The male member is formed at the end of a tube and includes a projection extending radially from the tube. The retainer has at least two locking beams extending between the radially extending projection and the radial face to retain the male member in the bore. The locking beams defines a slot between the locking beams. The dust barrier is slidably mounted on the tube. The dust barrier has at least one extension insertable within the slot so as to prevent inadvertent radially inward movement of the locking beams. Wherein upon sliding the dust barrier toward the female connector body, the dust barrier encloses the bore so as to prevent foreign material from entering the coupling assembly.

6676171 - Insertion verifier dust cap - Owned by TI Group Automotive Systems, LLC (Warren, MI)

A coupling assembly for providing a fluid connection comprising a female connector, a tube, a retainer and a cap. The female connector defines a bore. The bore extends axially inwardly into the connector from an entrance. An annular face is defined in the bore axially inwardly of the entrance. The tube is received within the bore. The tube has an enlarged upset. The retainer is disposed in the bore. The retainer has a member directly contacting the upset and extends to the annular face to retain the tube in the bore. The cap is slidably mounted on the tube and is attached to the female connector. The cap has a protrusion directly contacting the upset.

6557903 - Twist lock high pressure quick connector - Owned by ITT Manufacturing Enterprises, Inc. (Wilmington, DE)

A quick connector includes a male component in the form of a spool fixedly mounted to a fluid conduit and a female component in the form of a housing having a bore open at one end for receiving the male component therein. A latch is rotatably mountable on the spool and is movable relative to a transverse channel in the female component between a first installed position with respect to the channel and a second latched position wherein the latch engages opposed notches in the channel to latch the spool in the housing. At least one latch clip is mountable on the latch and engageable with edges of the channel in the body to resist rotation of the latch from the latched position. An optional secondary latch clip is engageable with the latch clip, the latch and the opposed side edges of the channel to further resist rotation of the latch from the latched position.
