Use of a cellulose ester for reducing the drying time of a nail varnish, wherein the nail varnish comprises, in a solvent medium, nitrocellulose a dyestuff, the cellulose ester being present in a synergistic amount, relative to the amount of nitrocellulose, effective for reducing the drying time of the nail varnish.
A nail varnish or nailcare composition containing an aqueous dispersion of particles of acrylic polymer having a glass transition temperature (Tg) greater than or equal to 45.degree. C. and a minimum film-forming temperature (MFT) such that Tg-MFT.ltoreq.20.degree. C., a first organic solvent having a boiling point measured at ambient pressure of greater than or equal to 225.degree. C. and a second organic solvent having a boiling point measured at ambient pressure ranging from 70.degree. C. to 180.degree. C. A method of making up and/or caring for the nails which includes applying the composition to the nails. The nail composition is adherent to the nail, is bright and is easily removed with conventional removers.
The present invention relates to compositions useful as cosmetic or therapeutic agents, as well as methods of their use. The compositions herein are particularly useful as coatings for mammalian nails. More particularly, the present invention relates to compositions which, when applied to mammalian nails exhibit long wear properties including excellent adhesion to the nail.
The present invention relates to compositions, kits, and films formed therefrom which are useful as cosmetic or therapeutic agents, as well as methods of their use. The compositions, kits, and films herein are particularly useful as polishes for mammalian nails. More particularly, the present invention relates to compositions and kits which, when applied to mammalian nails form films exhibiting long wear. When applied to mammalian nails, the present kits and compositions form films exhibiting surface energies from about 32 mN/m to about 43 mN/m and polarities from about 0.19 to about 0.29. The present invention further relates to methods of coating mammalian nails with films exhibiting surface energies from about 32 mN/m to about 43 mN/m and polarities from about 0.19 to about 0.29.
The present invention is directed to a cosmetic composition comprising at least one neutralized ionic film-forming polymer, water and least one polar organic solvent which is at least partially water-miscible and of higher boiling point than the boiling point of water, wherein the film-forming polymer is insoluble in water and is soluble in the organic solvent when it is in a non-neutralized state. In addition the neutralized film-forming polymer is soluble in the mixture of organic solvent and water and further wherein the mixture of neutralized polymer, organic solvent and water is a single phase.
