A windshield washer system has a nozzle mounted on a vehicle for issuing wash fluid to a windshield and a check valve for a fluid circuit from a supply of wash fluid to the nozzle. The nozzle has a fluid feed tube integrally formed therewith with annular walls defining a washer fluid flow path and a diameter of at least D. The feed tube has an external surface adapted to receive and retain a flexible hose from a supply of wash fluid. A spring shoulder receives a coil compression spring having upstream and downstream ends with the downstream end bearing on the spring shoulder. A valve element bears on the upstream end of the spring element, and a tubular insert having an inner end and an external diameter at least D and sufficient to form an elongated wash fluid seal with the annular walls defining a washer fluid flow path, and complementary-shaped valve seat formed on the inner end.
A windshield washer system wherein a nozzle is mounted on the hood of a vehicle and issues a jet of washer fluid in the ambient towards the windshield. The nozzle has a housing and a projecting surface, air deflector or tab formed to with or attached to the nozzle housing for aerodynamically assuring that the washer fluid impinges on the windshield in a predetermined area thereon at speeds above a predetermined minimum. In preferred embodiments, the projecting surface, air deflector or tab projects from about 6 mm to about 12 mm above the nozzle housing.
A valve device, in particular a window and lens cleaning device in motor vehicles, includes a housing (1) with a duct (2) and at least one nozzle (3), and also a tubular connecting piece (4) for feeding a pressurized fluid, in particular a cleaning liquid, into the duct and to the nozzle. The connecting piece (4) is provided at its nozzle-side end with a nonreturn valve which blocks a return flow from the nozzle to the connecting piece, wherein the connecting piece (4) is open at its nozzle-side end. The nonreturn valve comprises of an elastic shaped part (8) with a mouth which is normally closed and can be opened by the pressure of the cleaning liquid.

In a window and lens glass cleaning system for a window/lens glass of a motor vehicle, a washer nozzle, a heating element and a nonreturn valve are in each case arranged on or in a retaining part. The retaining part is fastened on a wiper arm which can pivot over the window/lens glass. The invention largely prevents washer fluid in the washer nozzle from freezing.
A check valve of a cleaning device of a vehicle lamp is provided with a cleaning liquid influx portion, a valve disposing portion, and a cleaning liquid efflux portion which are arranged in series in a sliding direction of the piston. A valve body is disposed in the valve disposing portion. The valve body opens and closes a space between the cleaning liquid influx portion and the cleaning liquid efflux portion, when at least a portion of the valve body moves in a direction substantially perpendicular to a sliding direction of a piston.
