Abstract
A rolled ridge vent comprising a longitudinal blank of corrugated plastic sheet material having an undivided top panel extending its length, and segmented portions extending laterally from each side of the top panel scored to be folded into opposing pairs of vent parts. Adjacent segmented portions may be cut entirely through or perforated for manual separation. The entire blank is spiral rolled in the longitudinal direction. The ridge vent is installed by placing the roll on the peak of the roof with the free end extending over the top and oriented away from the direction of installation. The blank is unrolled to expose at least one pair of segmented portions, which are then folded under the top panel to form the vent parts and fastened to the roof. This process is repeated until the desired length is installed. Foam end caps and air deflectors optionally may be installed.

6212833 - Tapered ridge vent for the peak or ridge of a framed roof structure

A roof vent device formed from upper and lower outer surfaces sized to define a generally rectangular configuration having a linear axis. A tapered matrix is positioned between the outer surfaces, the taper being directed in a direction perpendicular to the axis to define a thin linear edge and a thick linear edge along the outer edges of the configuration that are parallel to the axis and tapered linear edges along the outer edges of the configuration that are perpendicular to the axis. The tapered matrix has a gap located proximate the middle of the tapered linear edges and extending generally over the linear axis of the outer surfaces. The gap defines an entrance for an air to vent air from beneath the roof ridge out the thick linear edge. The gap further provides a pivot point about which the configuration folds to conform to a roof pitch having a predetermined angle. In one embodiment the matrix is tapered from one outer edge to the gap and the remaining portion of the matrix is generally level. In the preferred embodiment, the taper extends from one linear edge to the other. In a preferred embodiment, a baffle extends out from the thick linear edge and is shaped to deflect outside air away from the thick linear edge without inhibiting air flow out of the linear edge from the air tunnel entrance.

5971848 - Plastic ridge vent - Owned by Building Materials Corporation of America (Wayne, NJ)

A roof ridge ventilator made of a flexible unitary plastic panel adjustable to the configuration of various roof pitches having: Z-shaped and Y-shaped supports spaced from and alternating each other supporting the panel over the roof; ventilation means of rows of vent slots and slats running longitudinally on the two sides of the panel in which the slots and slats have trapezoidal configurations; vertical exterior baffles integral with the vent slats and running parallel thereto; and baffle extenders integral with the exterior baffles and at an angle of from about 130.degree. to about 160.degree. from the plane of the vertical exterior baffles.

6015343 - Tile roof vent - Owned by Building Materials Corporation of America (Wayne, NJ)

Tile roof vent for covering the opening of the ridge of an undulating tile roof. The vent includes two panels spaced from each other, each of which has a hard plastic sheet with a lower portion and an upper portion. To the underside of the lower portions are affixed an air-permeable mat and optionally a layer of foam rubber which conform to the undulating configuration of the tile roof. The lower portions of the hard plastic sheets are reinforced by stiffeners integral with the hard plastic sheet and also contain vent holes for exhausting air from the attic space.

6286273 - Tile vent - Owned by Building Materials Investment Corporation (Wilmington, DE)

Tile vent for covering the opening of the ridge of an undulating roof. The tile vent includes two unitary panels facing each other in a mirror image fashion the top portion of which is affixed to a ridge board and the bottom portion of which is affixed to the undulating roof. The tile vent includes vent slots to allow exhaust of attic air, and reinforcing stiffeners to support ridge tiles placed over the opening in the ridge.

5902432 - Method of making a rolled roof vent - Owned by Benjamin Obdyke, Inc. (Warminster, PA)

An improved roll-form vent for buildings comprises a sequentially thermoformed polymeric vent which provides multiple venting air flow paths between the interior of a building and ambient atmosphere. The vent includes projections extending from a web and a plurality of vent openings that cooperate with screening to bar entry into the building of water, insects and foreign matter. A method of making the vent includes steps of providing a web of material of indeterminate running length, heating the web, sequentially thermoforming the web, cooling the web and rolling the formed vent for storage, shipment and use.
