An improved highly alkaline hair straightening emulsion and a two component system for preparing the emulsion are provided. The emulsion employs a combination of strong nitrogenous organic base and alkali metal hydroxide in the presence of an alkaline earth metal cation. Neither the amount of the alkali metal hydroxide nor the amount of organic base present in the emulsion is sufficient by itself to effectively permanently straighten naturally curly hair. Alkaline earth metal hydroxides are characteristically ineffective as permanent hair straighteners. However, surprisingly, the combination is effective for achieving permanent straightening of hair within a treatment time of not more than about 30 minutes. In use, the emulsion also substantially avoids scalp skin irritation. Also, hair discoloration and hair breakage are minimized.
An elastic shoe pad has an elastic seat and a positioning seat engaging with the elastic seat. A method of conditioning and oxidatively dyeing human hair includes applying an oxidative hair dyeing composition to the human hair in order to dye the human hair and, simultaneously or subsequently to the applying of the oxidative hair dyeing composition, applying a particular hair conditioning composition to the hair. This hair conditioning composition has a pH value of from 3.4 to 3.9, which corresponds to an isoelectric point of the human hair, and contains from 0.001 to 2.5% by weight of a cationic polymer, an optional pH buffer and preferably additional conditioning ingredients, such as a cationic surfactant and/or a fatty alcohol.

An improved hair repair, styling, and straightening process wherein the optimal reaction point of the hair with the straightening solution is more accurately controlled and monitored. The hair straightening solution has a unique jell-like consistency to more completely and easily be rinsed from the hair. A unique pre-oxidizing set is applied to the hair by application of heat and compression while the hair remains in an elastic condition. The pre-oxidizing set provides the ability to make fine styling adjustments to the hair. A substantial improvement in straightening, styling, and repairing damaged hair is achieved.
The invention relates to hair conditioner compositions that are non-irritating to the eye and which comprise: a) a C20-C24 quaternary ammonium compound, which has ethosulfate or methosulfate as an anion; b) a second C20-C24 quaternary ammonium compound, which has chloride or bromide as an anion; c) a compound which is solid at room temperature and which is selected from the group consisting of a fatty alcohol, an ester, an amine, an amide, an acid, and a water-soluble polymer; d) optionally a compound, which is liquid at room temperature, selected from the group consisting of a water insoluble emollient, a water insoluble lubricating agent, and a water insoluble conditioning compound; and wherein a) and b) are present in a weight ratio of about 1:10 to about 10:1; are described.
