A wax-free silicone containing furniture polish is prepared using 1) a low viscosity silicone fluid and a silicone gum; or 2) a low visosity silicone fluid and a polydiorganosiloxane; or 3) a low visocity silicone fluid, a silicone gum, and a polydiorganosiloxane together with water and one or more suitable surfactants.
A furniture polish comprising a mineral oil, a silicone polish, and a bittering agent may be prepared. Such a composition may be made suitable for dispensing as a spray or mist by means of a non-pressurized spray apparatus by the addition thereto of a shear-thinning thixotropic thickener.
A cleaning and protectant composition for automotive painted surfaces is provided. The composition includes a low-foaming nonionic surfactant, a silicone antifoam emulsion, and a volatile silicone fluid. A method of cleaning and protecting an automotive surface includes applying the composition to the surface.

A composition for simultaneously cleaning and waxing non-porous surfaces without the need for additional rinsing of the treated surface with water, has a pH of from about 6 to about 7 and contains by weight: (a) from about 0.04 to about 0.12% of an acrylic-based polymer, wherein the acrylic-based polymer is a hydrophobically modified, crosslinked polyacrylate powder which has been crosslinked with a polyalkenyl polyether or is an acrylic polymer containing acid groups and which dissolves and swells immediately when neutralized with an alkali salt (b) from about 0.5 to about 5.0% of a silicone blend composed of: (i) from about 70 to about 95% of a first polydiorganosiloxane fluid having a viscosity of from about 0.65 to about 60,000 centistokes at 25.degree. C., and (ii) from about 5 to about 30% of a polydiorganosiloxane fluid mixture having a viscosity of from about 500 to about 2000 centistokes at 25.degree. C., the polydiorganosiloxane fluid mixture being composed of a second polydiorganosiloxane fluid and a silicone resin; (c) wax; and (d) water. The composition can be used to simultaneously clean and wax non-porous surfaces such as the exterior surfaces of automobiles and other vehicles, windows, and the like.
A disposable wipe impregnated with furniture polish or another surface treating liquid such as a hard surface cleaner or insect repellant is disclosed. The liquid is in the form of a dispersion which is a biliquid foam with a thickener, where the foam is structured as an oil-in-water complex. The dispersion has an oil portion having a polysiloxane and/or a hydrocarbon oil. There is also surfactant such as one nonionic surfactant and one polar surfactant. Water is also provided. The biliquid structure stabilizes the dispersion even with very low levels of surfactant, while the thickener retards migration of the impregnated liquid in response to gravity.
