Abstract
An earth drain comprising a core consisting of an elongated flexible web having on at least one surface thereof, and preferably on both surfaces, an array of discreet projections spaced transversely across the width of the web, and longitudinally in the lengthwise orientation of the web. The array of projections is interrupted by a plurality of elongated projection-free zones extending in the longitudinal direction of the web, and spaced transversely across the width of the web. A filter of sheet-like water permeable material encases the core, and is adapted to be maintained in spaced relationship to the web by the free ends of the projections thereon.

5934828 - Drainage method and strap draining materials therefor - Owned by Tu; Yung-An (Taipei,TW)

A strap drain material includes a strap having at least a first and a second side and a first and a second end. At least the first side of the material has a plurality of slots arranged in a spaced-apart fashion along a width of the strap and extending along a length of the strap, and a plurality of notches, each of the plurality of notches corresponding to each of the plurality of slots extending from the slots to a surface of the strap. Each notch is sized such that the notch is capable of creating a capillary action and is adapted to draw liquid from outside of the strap and into the slot corresponding to the notch.

7014390 - Drainage member with expansion zones - Owned by American Wick Drain Corporation (Monroe, NC)

A drainage member for use in promoting the drainage of water away from a substrate positioned adjacent the drainage member which includes an elongated, longitudinally extending base formed of a flexible material and having a plurality of outwardly extending projections. The projections are spaced from one another to form drainage channels between the projections. The elongated base has a plurality of expansion zones formed of the flexible material and extending generally transversely of the longitudinal extent thereof, the expansion zones comprising a deformation of the flexible material that absorbs longitudinal expansion of such material when it is exposed to heat without any significant increase in the longitudinal length of the drainage member.

6221445 - Composite artificial turf structure with shock absorption and drainage - Owned by U.S. Greentech, Inc. (Calhoun, GA)

An artificial turf is disclosed which comprises an outer artificial grass layer having a generally uniform exterior playing surface. A deflection layer is disposed below the artificial grass layer. The deflection layer has a prescribed height to provide resiliency for absorbing impact shocks from foot traffic and playing on the artificial grass layer. The deflection layer has a plurality of interstices providing open passages for water drainage; and loose particles are dispersed into the interstices of the deflection layer up to a prescribed level to provide stability and enhance shock absorption so that the deflection layer deflects when the artificial grass is impacted to assist in absorbing the impact and maintain normal playing action of the playing surface of the artificial grass layer. A base surface is disposed below aid deflection layer which includes a flexible grid system having a plurality of individual cells interconnected together to provide flexibility and conform to the contour of a compacted subbase surface.

5899031 - Partition structure having a screen - Owned by Tadayoshi Nagaoka (JP)

A partition structure having a screen includes a pair of main wall members disposed in parallel to each other with a predetermined interval, a pair of side wall members connected at end portions thereof to the end portions of the pair of main wall members to connect said main wall members to each other and provide a partition space defined by said main wall members and said side wall members, and one or more spacer members disposed in said partition space and fixed to said main wall members to hold the main wall members in positon. At least a part of at least one of the main wall members and the spacer members being a screen. The partition structure may further include a top member and a bottom member closing the partition space, and a communicating tube communicating with the partition space through the top plate.

6691472 - Foundation wall protector

A foundation protector for a foundation wall prevents moisture being retained in the foundation wall and also provides drainage for surface water so that water does not rest against the surface of the foundation wall. The foundation protector has a smooth exterior surface so that it remains attached to the foundation if earth subsidence occurs. The foundation protector includes a waterproof dimpled sheet with spaced-apart protrusions and an outer waterproof membrane which covers recesses formed by the protrusions and provides a substantially smooth exterior surface.
