Abstract
A door structure for a vehicle capable of increasing its capability of protecting a passenger on the vehicle without increasing the thickness of the pad. The door structure is provided with a door body including an inner panel and an outer panel, reinforcements secured to each of the panels and a pad attached to the inner panel to protect the passenger. In the longitudinal direction of the vehicle, each of the reinforcements has its rear end positioned in front of the passenger. Because each panel has a higher rigid part with the reinforcement and a lower rigid part without the reinforcements, when an external force is exerted on the door body, it begins to deform in the vicinity of the rear end of the reinforcement, whereby it is possible to absorb the energy of the external force efficiently without injuring the passenger.

7243972 - Vehicle body panel structure - Owned by Nissan Motor Co., Ltd, (Yokohama-shi,JP)

A vehicle body panel structure comprises an outer panel, an inner panel facing the outer panel, and a trim of a cabin interior. In the vehicle body panel structure, at least one surface of a back surface of the outer panel, both surfaces of the inner panel, and a surface of the trim facing the outer panel has both functions of heat insulation and heat dissipation by partially providing a heat insulation section to insulate heat for the at least one surface.

7445270 - Mounting structure of impact absorbing pad - Owned by Kasai Kogyo Co., Ltd. (Kanagawa-Ken,JP) Honda Giken Kogyo Kabushiki Kaisha (Tokyo,JP)

A mounting structure of an impact absorbing pad mounted to a back surface of an interior lining, which makes it possible to facilitate positioning and mounting of the impact absorbing pad, and which enhances durability of the impact absorbing pad by preventing breakage of the impact absorbing pad when an impact load is applied from a lateral direction of an indoor side of a vehicle.A box-shaped holder is vertically provided at a mounting reference position of a back surface of a door lining body in a door lining (interior lining), an insertion piece in an impact absorbing pad is fitted in the above described box-shaped holder, and positioning and fixing at a reference fixing point of the impact absorbing pad performed. Then, by giving flexibility along a load direction to a top plate part of the above described box-shaped holder, the above described top plate part is bent when an impact load is applied from the lateral direction of the indoor side of the vehicle, whereby an excessive load applied to the top surface of the insertion piece can be reduced, and durability of the impact absorbing pad is enhanced.

6474721 - Vehicle door - Owned by Mazda Motor Corporation (Hiroshima,JP)

A vehicle door for a vehicle comprises an outer door panel, an inner door panel formed with an aperture, a plastic panel to which functional devices of the vehicle door and door parts are installed and which is installed to the inner door panel to close up the aperture of the inner door panel, and an impact absorbing member formed as a part integral with the plastic panel or fixedly secured to the plastic panel which absorbs an impact against the plastic panel upon an occurrence of a side crash of the vehicle.

6203096 - Energy absorbing structure of vehicular door - Owned by Toyota Jidosha Kabushiki Kaisha (Toyota,JP)

An energy absorbing structure of a vehicular door has an energy absorbing member that is disposed on a compartment side of an inner panel, at such a position as to substantially face a hip of an occupant sitting on a seat. The energy absorbing member has a block or container shape. A generally rectangular protruded portion is formed together with the energy absorbing member. The protruded portion is protruded from a front-to-rear middle portion of an upper end portion of a bottom wall of the energy absorbing member that faces the inner panel when the energy absorbing member is mounted. The bottom wall has an increased wall thickness and therefore resists bending deformation. The protruded portion is designed so that the protruded portion is substantially prevented from undergoing compression deformation at the time of impact. In a door assembly, the protruded portion protrudes from a service hole formed in the inner panel toward to an outer panel. A substantially vertically extending windowpane regulator guide is disposed at a side of the protruded portion, the side being opposite from the compartment. The windowpane regulator guide is spaced from the protruded portion by a small clearance.

6955391 - Deployable trim for side impact system in automobiles - Owned by Ford Global Technologies, LLC (Dearborn, MI)

A deployable interior door trim for an automotive vehicle that separates in the middle section to separate the lower door trim portion from the armrest. The separating door trim permits a pelvis pusher block to engage the occupant of the vehicle during side impact situations without pushing the armrest into the abdomen region of the occupant. An alternative embodiment has the separation area formed as a line extending around a deployable portion of the door trim corresponding to the pelvis pusher block so that the pusher block can pass through the door trim to engage the occupant pelvis area. Preventing excessive abdomen rib deflections on crash dummies will improve performance ratings in IIHS side impact tests without requiring a structural change in the energy absorbing door structure of the vehicle.
