Abstract
A method for raising foundations of building structures is shown and described. The method uses a bracket assmebly having a tubular portion with a central channel and a lip that extends from the tubular portion. The lip is placed under the bottom surface of the foundation or slab and an assembly of pilings is driven through the channel until bedrock or other similar load bearing strata is encounterd. A hydraulic cylinder having a ram may be used to drive the sections of pipe that constitute the piling or pier. Once the bedrock is encountered by the pilings, a jacking saddle is attached to the bracket assembly in order to raise the foundation up a short distance in relation to the top of the piling. A gap is thus created between the slot in the bracket and the top of the upper most pipe. Into this gap is placed a series of one or more pins in order to support the foundation upon the top of the piling by means of the pins and prevent the house from settling but not prevent the house from rising.

6390734 - Method and apparatus for anchoring a piling to a slab foundation

A device and method are provided for leveling and supporting a slab foundation on a column of piling sections. A vertical hole is bored through the slab foundation and an anchoring cylinder is inserted in the hole. An adhesive is used to adhere the outer surface of the anchoring cylinder to a portion of the foundation. The cylinder has a plurality of downward-facing load shoulders which are engaged by upward-facing shoulders of a reacting member positioned across and above the hole. Piling sections are inserted into the anchoring cylinder and forced into the earth with a driving device that reacts against the reacting member. The anchoring cylinder is then supported on the piling sections to maintain the desired level of the foundation.

6141932 - Metal deck roof construction

A metal deck roof repair module system that does not disturb the existing roofing membrane or insulation. The roof repair module has a surface profile similar to that of the existing deck, is installed from below the roof deck, and is jacked into mating position with the bottom surface of the existing roof deck. The repair module comprises two elongated frame angles pre-welded to a piece of corrugated sheet metal. The module is ultimately supported between two adjacent roof beams through support angles which frictionally engage the roof beam. A jacking lever comprised of a handle, an oval-shaped head, and a pin extending from a perimeter of the head, lifts the module to the existing deck by camming against a lower edge of the frame angle. A guide bolt extends through the frame angles and the support angles to prevent lateral movement of the module as it is raised.

6539685 - Apparatus and method for lifting sunken foundations

An apparatus for lifting and stabilizing sunken or settled foundations, slabs, footings, etc. includes a lifting plate having a pipe section solidly secured thereto, for passing concentrically over the anchor pier used in such operations. The concentric lifting plate pipe precludes cocking or tilting of the plate relative to the anchor pier and foundation structure, thereby greatly improving the security of the lifting operation. As a result of the increased lifting plate stability provided by the present invention, only a single clamp is needed for securing the lifting assembly to the foundation. The clamp is adjustably positionable as required, to secure to a solid area of the foundation structure. The present system secures the plate to the pier using mechanical fasteners, thus precluding requirement for costly welding and other metal forming equipment. A method of raising or stabilizing a foundation or similar structure using the present apparatus, is also disclosed.

6705053 - Method and apparatus for utilizing non-cylindrical support sections to lift and level existing buildings from a location underneath the buildings

An apparatus and a method are provided for lifting and leveling an existing building from a position underneath the existing building. At least a first non-cylindrical support section having a substantially rectangular shape and first and second ends is located within the earth at a position underneath the existing building. A cap support section is placed in contact with the second end of the first non-cylindrical support section. A jack is disposed on the upper side of the cap support section and raised until the foundation of the existing building has been lifted to a desired height. The non-cylindrical support section has low bearing and high friction characteristics. The low bearing characteristics enable the apparatus to be driven further into the earth than cylindrical pilings that are commonly used to lift and level existing buildings. The high friction characteristics assist in maintaining the stability of the apparatus once it has been installed.

6767167 - Method and apparatus for lifting and stabilizing a foundation

A method and apparatus for lifting and stabilizing a foundation including a pier having a top end and a bottom end, the pier being disposed in shaft drilled proximate the foundation to a desired underground formation suitable for supporting the foundation, a slab bracket connected to a side of the foundation and not supporting the foundation from the underside thereof, a jacking bracket attached to the top end of the prier and positioned below the slab bracket, and means for supporting the foundation positional between the jacking bracket and the slab bracket.
