Abstract
A line connector lock is used with intravenous (IV) or feeding tube connections to prevent inadvertent disconnections or fluid contamination. The line connector lock has a hollow body and a tensioning element attached to the body. The body fits over an insertion tube and is forced against a line connection through the tensioning element. Installation and removal of the line connector lock is possible on existing tube connections. The two ends of the line connector lock are preferably of different diameters to accommodate various types and sizes of connections.

7491189 - Catheter insertion guide

The present invention system allows for an easier insertion and placement of IV catheters. This invention comprises a clip device attachable to a conventional catheter. The clip enables the practitioner to insert and withdraw the catheter device from the patient with the use of only one hand. This ability to perform this procedure with only one hand enables the practitioner to use the other free hand to hold, secure and restrain the patient. As a result, this invention greatly reduces the need to reinsert the needle multiple times because patient movement has affected the insertion process.

7458615 - Connector - Owned by Fisher & Paykel Healthcare Limited (Auckland,NZ)

A connector for use with a conduit to supply gases to a user is disclosed. The connector comprises a pair of connectors, adapted to fit together and swivel relative to one another. More particularly, the connector may comprise a female and male connector assemblies, adapted to be push fit together. The female connector assembly preferably has an extended shoulder and a number of triangular guide slots, the slots being shaped so as to be wider at one end. The male connector assembly preferably comprises a connector and a sleeve that when joined, cannot be easily separated by axial or torsional tension applied to either, but may rotate freely relative to each other. The sleeve preferably has a number of guide ridges running axially along its outside surface that slidably mate with the guide slots on the female connector.

6612619 - Quick coupler retention clip and method

A quick coupler retention clip is disclosed for preventing an inadvertent disconnection of a quick coupler. The clip device includes a unitary clip having a first and a second end. The first end of the clip is of annular configuration so that the body of the coupler extends through the annular first end for anchoring the first end of the clip relative to the body. The second end of the clip is a C-shaped configuration to removably engage a groove defined between a collar and the body of the coupler. A strap extends between the first and second ends of the clip for securing the first and second ends of the clip together. The disconnection of the body from the port of the quick coupler is permitted only when the C-shaped second end is removed from engagement with the groove so that inadvertent disconnection of the body from the port is prevented.

6699233 - Locking catheter - Owned by SciMed Life Systems, Inc. (Maple Grove, MN)

An apparatus and method for locking a catheter within a patient enables the catheter to be easily and securely locked and prevents the catheter from being inadvertently unlocked. The locking catheter includes an elongated body member including a proximal portion and a distal portion, a first proximal member, an elongated flexible member, and a second proximal member releasably couplable to the first proximal member to allow selective locking and unlocking of the elongated flexible member therebetween. The second proximal member includes a channel. The elongated flexible member extends from the distal portion of the elongated body member, through the first proximal member, and through the channel of the second proximal member. The elongated flexible member is slidable through the channel thereby allowing the distal portion of the elongated body member to be drawn toward the proximal portion of the elongated body member to form a loop in the distal portion of the elongated body member.

7455325 - Connecting element comprising a first body and a method for injection moulding a connecting element - Owned by Unomedical A/S (Birkerod,DK)

A medical connector for connecting a tube with a medical device and having a through-going bore which at one end of the connector comprises a cavity for permanently attaching the end of the tube to the connector and which at least at the end of the connector comprises an inner part and an outer part; the inner part and the outer part being integrally connected, the outer part being made from a thermoplastic material which is resistant to changes when subjected to the influence of a disinfectant and the inner part being made from a thermoplastic material which is compatible with a soft glue and a method for injection moulding such connectors.
