6117218 - Scenting device for HVAC systems - Owned by Web Products, Inc. (Kansas City, KS)

A scenting device for attachment to an air filter in a HVAC system. The scenting device comprises a sheet formed from a material that is substantially impervious to air. The sheet is cut so as to form at least one opening through which the air to be scented flows. The opening is preferably serpentine and defines a plurality of fingers in the sheet. A relatively thick layer of a high viscosity liquid, such as a gel, containing a fragrance is deposited onto the sheet. The device is made by partially cutting through the sheet so as to form a zone of weakness having the shape of the intended opening. After the fragrance-containing material is deposited on the sheet, it is packaged and slipped to the user. The user tears the sheet along the zone of weakness, thereby forming the opening.

6544302 - Composite candle compositions - Owned by Bush Boake Allen (Montvale, NJ)

Candles are disclosed that include a wick, a first phase and a second phase. In one embodiment, the first phase is substantially clear and has a first melting point, the second phase is visually distinct from the first phase and has a second melting point, and the second melting point is greater than or about equal to the first melting point. In another embodiment, the first phase contains a first concentration of gellant in first solvent, the second phase contains a second concentration of gellant in second solvent, and the first and second concentrations are non-identical. In another embodiment, the first and second phases each contain gellant, however the second phase contains components not present in the first phase.

7497623 - Packages with active agents - Owned by Pactiv Corporation (Lake Forest, IL)

Packages with active agents are described. Generally, the disclosed packages have a pair of opposing body panels joined together along a pair of opposing sides and a bottom bridging the sides so as to define a mouth opposite the bottom, a reclosable fastener extending along the mouth, and an active agent. The reclosable fastener includes a pair of polymeric tracks, in which each of the tracks includes a mating element and a fin portion. The mating elements are releasably engageable to each other, and each of the fin portions extends downwards from the respective mating element towards the bottom of the reclosable package. The active agent is associated with at least one of the fin portions for communication with the interior of the reclosable package.
