Abstract
The present invention relates to a device for administering a fluid medicament to an infant via a teat in fluid flow communication with a reservoir for the fluid medicament, characterised in that the device comprises: a. a teat having an inlet at or adjacent its proximal end to receive fluid from the reservoir and an outlet at or adjacent its distal end through which fluid fed to the teat from the reservoir is adapted to flow into the mouth of a user; b. a conduit within the teat directly connecting the said inlet to the said outlet for the direct flow of fluid medicament from the reservoir to the outlet of the teat; c. an intermediate member located intermediate the proximal end of the teat and the reservoir and adapted to securely receive and locate the teat and to receive the reservoir; d. a reservoir formed integrally with, or demountably secured to, the said intermediate member and being in fluid flow communication via said intermediate member and said conduit with said teat outlet. Preferably, the device also comprises means for generating a positive pressure within the reservoir to assist discharge of fluid from the reservoir to the teat outlet. The invention also provides a method for administering a fluid medicament using a device of the invention.

6511455 - Medicine dispenser device for children

A medicine dispenser having a first medicine chamber where the liquid medicine is measured before dispensing it to a mouth of a patient by a pressure. Medicine dispenser has a nozzle in the distal end of said medicine dispenser, allowing liquid medicine in flow to the patient's mouth by said first pressure. Additionally the Medicine dispenser has a second conduit leading from said nozzle end of said medicine dispenser to a second expansion chamber. From the expansion chamber, the medicine can be re-introduced to the patient.

6110193 - Medicine dispenser carried on pacifier

A medicine dispenser carried on pacifier includes: a miniature container adapted for filling medicine therein, and a pacifier combinable with the miniature container and fluidically communicated with the interior in the container, whereby upon sucking by a baby or an infant on a nipple portion of the pacifier, the medicine as flowing from the container into a passage in the nipple portion of the pacifier, the medicine will be sucked and administered into a baby's mouth through the passage in the nipple portion for treating or curing a baby's disease.

6139566 - Pacifier for introducing liquids orally to an infant

A pacifier which can be used to introduce liquids orally to an infant has a resilient, hollow nipple that extends from a broad, inner face of a shield plate which in turn abuts the external surfaces of the lips of an infant when the nipple is positioned in the infant's mouth. An elongate, delivery tube extends from the shield plate through the nipple. An open, distal end of the delivery tube projects through a distal end of the nipple so that the open, distal end of the delivery tube opens into the infant's mouth when the nipple is in the infant's mouth. Liquid to be administered to the infant is introduced into the proximal end of the delivery tube through a flexible tube that is rotatably attached to the proximal end of the delivery tube.

7029491 - Pacifier

A pacifier includes a nipple, a shield and a handle. The nipple comprises a pair of wings extending longitudinally along a bulbous end of the nipple. The wings allow for air to exit and enter the space between the palate and the nipple to prevent a vacuum therebetween. Alternatively, the nipple has a channel system comprising a series of holes on the surface of the nipple, some contacting the palate, to also allow the air to enter and exit the space between the palate and the nipple. The stem of the nipple may also have a transverse hole which receives the baby teeth to prevent an open bite.
