An electromagnetic relay is provided with an electromagnet system with a U-shaped core yoke and an essentially flat armature, which form a working air gap on a longitudinal side underneath the coil winding. One yoke limb lies immediately on the coil winding, so that the make motion of the armature is towards the coil. In this way, a relatively large contact room is formed underneath the yoke limb and a movable contact spring extends approximately parallel under the armature. The contact spring is actuated by the armature which draws an actuating element. The relay enables a relay for high switching capacity with a changeover contact and with large insulating distances between the magnet system and the contact arrangement.
A relay includes a magnetic system provided with an armature and a contact system provided with a first contact and a moveable second contact. An electrically insulating base plate is arranged between the magnetic system and the contact system and has an opening therein. First and second walls extend from the base plate and are arranged between the opening and the magnetic system or the opening and the contact system. An actuator extends between the armature and the contact system through the opening and transfers movement of the armature to the second contact to move the second contact into electrical engagement with the first contact. The actuator has a third wall that extends toward the base plate and between the first and second walls. The first, second, and third walls extend a leakage path of an electrical leakage current between the contact system and the magnetic system.
An electromagnetic relay including a base having a first receptacle, a second receptacle and a partition wall defining the first and second receptacles on mutually opposite sides of the partition wall. The partition wall includes a major part and an auxiliary part, the major part being provided with a local opening. An electromagnet assembly is received in the first receptacle of the base and includes an electromagnet and an armature. The armature includes an extending portion extending in a direction toward the second receptacle of the base through the local opening of the partition wall. The auxiliary part of the partition wall is disposed between the electromagnet and the extending portion of the armature. A contact section is received in the second receptacle of the base. An actuating member is arranged between the electromagnet assembly and the contact section, and includes an envelope part for enclosing at least a part of the extending portion of the armature. When the contact section is opened, the envelope part of the actuating member is supported by the auxiliary part of the partition wall.
To provide a small-sized electromagnetic relay capable of reducing an internal resistance of a contact circuit as much as possible, and also capable of carrying a high current to the relay. The electromagnetic relay includes an electromagnetic driving block composed by a coil, an iron core, a yoke, and an armature; fixed contacts each provided on one end of each of a pair of terminals fixed to a base; and a movable spring having movable contacts provided at positions corresponding to the respective fixed contacts, the armature driving the movable spring depending on whether or not a current is carried to the coil, thereby opening or closing a contact circuit, wherein the movable spring has both ends supported by the base, the movable spring arranged in parallel to the terminals, and the movable contacts are provided on the movable spring.
To reduce the internal resistance of small electromagnetic relays of a one-circuit three-contact gap type in order to make it possible to allow large electric currents and at the same time to improve the connection between the fixed contacts and the moveable contacts. Fixed contacts on the fixed terminals are positioned at each apex of an approximate triangle on the upper surface of the insulation base. Moveable contacts are installed on the lower surface of the moveable plate, and are respectively placed in a position which corresponds to each of the fixed contacts. The moveable plate is fastened to the moveable spring whose both ends are held onto the sides of the insulation base, and moves at a specified distance from the fixed contacts due to the pressure of the moveable spring. The construction results in the movable contacts contacting their corresponding fixed contacts at the three positions with uniform contact strength.
