A liquid crystal material filling apparatus which includes, in a vacuum chamber, a liquid crystal pot having a liquid crystal reservoir for storing a liquid crystal material. A groove part is coupled with the liquid crystal reservoir at a certain angle and contains a medium for holding the liquid crystal material. A filling jig cassette is provided to accommodate a plurality of liquid crystal panels having injection ports faced downwardly, and an elevation device is provided for moving the liquid crystal pot up and down. Also, a posture control mechanism is provided for switching a posture of the liquid crystal pot in accordance with the up/down movement of the liquid crystal pot thereby to cause the liquid crystal material to flow from the liquid crystal reservoir to the groove part at a raised position and bring the medium in touch with lower faces of the injection ports of the liquid crystal panels.
A device and method for injecting liquid crystal material into a liquid crystal cell. The device includes a container for holding the liquid crystal material and a stand disposed in the container. The stand has an upper surface and at least one side having a plurality of furrows formed therein. The liquid crystal material is transported by capillary action to the upper surface where it is contacted with an injection hole of the cell. The method provides for removal of air from the liquid crystal material and injection of the liquid crystal material in an isotropic state.
First, a plurality of liquid crystal display panels having filling ports for filling liquid crystal are arranged. Next, a ultraviolet ray curing sealing agent in a wet state is transferred to each of the filling ports by a transfer roller in a lump. Then, an ultraviolet ray is irradiated to the ultraviolet ray curing sealing agent.
A liquid crystal injecting/sealing apparatus for injecting a liquid crystal into a liquid crystal display panel and sealing it. In the apparatus, an elevator is installed at the end of the injecting apparatus to convey the liquid crystal display panel from the injecting apparatus into the sealing apparatus. A residual liquid crystal remover removes a contaminated liquid crystal at the periphery of the liquid crystal injection hole. A sealer seals the liquid crystal injection hole with a sealant. An ultraviolet irradiating unit hardens the sealant.
An apparatus and method are provided for deaerating liquid crystal contained in at least one liquid crystal container. The apparatus includes a chamber, a holder, a displacement mechanism, a vacuum system and a gas supply. The chamber has an opening to provide access to an interior of the chamber and a cover to seal the opening. The holder is disposed in the chamber to hold the liquid crystal container having the liquid crystal while the displacement mechanism displaces the at least one container. Here, the vacuum system creates a vacuum state in the chamber during deaeration, and the gas supply restores the chamber to atmospheric pressure.
