Abstract
A stapling apparatus (1) has a stationary stapling head (9) and a counterbearing(13), fastened to a slider(4) and equipped with a clinching apparatus (14), that is fastened to slider (4). The slider (4) has parallel clamping surfaces (4d, 4e), associated with which are a clamping element (19), mounted in stationary pivotable fashion and having clamping jaws (19c, 19d) and edges (19e, 19f), that can be positioned by a torsion spring (21), pivotably about a bearing (19a), against the clamping surfaces (4d, 4e) of the slider (4). The clamping element (19) is spring-loaded opposite to a movement direction "B" of the slider (4). The pivot bearing (19a) of the clamping element (19) is arranged at a distance (r) from the slider (4) that is related by a ratio l/r<2 .mu., which effects self-locking, to the length (l) of the clamping jaws (19c, 19d). When a force which attempts to move the slider (4) opposite to the direction of arrow "B" acts, as a result of the stapling operation, on the counterbearing (13), jamming of the clamping element (19) occurs by self-locking, thus causing immediate blocking of the slider (4). After completion of the stapling operation, an actuator (5) of the clinching apparatus (14) releases the blocling of the slider (4) by positive pivoting of the clamping element (19).

7011243 - Stapler apparatus - Owned by ACCO Brands USA LLC (Lincolnshire, IL) NISCA Corporation (Yamanashi-Ken,JP)

A stapler apparatus includes right and left side frames each opposing the other, a reciprocally moving staple driving member arranged between the side frames, a cam member interlocked to the staple driving member to reciprocally move the staple driving member and a drive motor interlocked to the cam member. The drive motor, the cam member and the staple driving member are arranged in order between the left and right frames.

6698640 - Motor operated stapler - Owned by Max Co., Ltd. (Tokyo,JP)

A motor-operated stapler is disclosed which, when a bundle of sheets to be stapled is thin, prevents staple leg portions once inserted through the bundle of sheets from again piercing through the sheets bundle and which, in the case of a thick bundle of sheets, bends staple leg portions sufficiently to staple the bundle of sheets to a satisfactory extent. In the motor-operated stapler, a clincher base which carries a bundle of sheets thereon is supported by a housing of a magazine which pushes out a U-shaped staple downward, the bundle of sheets is pinched by both the clincher base and the magazine, the U-shaped staple is pushed out from the magazine into and through the bundle of sheets, and a pair of leg portions of the staple thus projected from the bundle of sheets are bent by a pair of clinchers installed on the clincher base.

7111378 - Fastener closing - Owned by Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P. (Houston, TX)

Apparatus for closing a fastener includes a first member adapted to engage and bend a fastener toward a closed position, a second member defining a recessed fastener guide adapted to engage and bend the fastener toward the closed position, the recessed fastener guide being generally aligned with the first member to receive at least a portion of the fastener from the first member, structure for moving the first member, and structure for moving the second member relative to the first member to move the fastener toward the closed position.

7093339 - Media fastening - Owned by Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P. (Houston, TX)

An apparatus for closing fasteners in media includes a plurality of fastener clinches, the plurality of fastener clinches being adapted for operable engagement with a plurality of fastener dispensers, and the plurality of fastener clinches including structure adapted to generally simultaneously close a plurality of fasteners discharged by the fastener dispensers. The apparatus also includes an actuation mechanism for moving the fastener clinches to contact and close the fasteners in the media, and a drive for powering the actuation mechanism.
