A male connector (B) includes an outer housing (10) equipped with a rotatable lever (31) and an inner connector (20) which moves in an axial direction in the outer housing by rotation of the lever. A female connector (A) includes a shell for receiving the male connector; the male and female connectors having abutting faces (36 and 4) abutting on each other by magnetic force when the inner connector (20) and the female connector (A) are engaged with each other, at least one of the abutting faces being made of magnet (35). The male and female connectors can constitute a provisional locking structure before substantial magnetic adsorption force due to proximity of the male and female connectors. The male and female connectors are coupled to each other to connect terminals mounted in the male and female connectors to each other. Even if a strong magnet is used to couple relatively large connectors with each other, they can be separated by small force.
A temperature controller includes temperature-adjusting device and a heating device. A plurality of magnet pieces and magnet attractive pads are respectively provided to terminal faces of the temperature-adjusting device and the heating device respectively for inducing magnetic attraction between the temperature-adjusting device and the heating device for enhancing the mounting force therebetween.
An apparatus is provided for removably mounting and electrically connecting electronic equipment through a plug to a permanently mounted powered receptacle that allows removal of power from the equipment, such as a monitor, attached to it without removal of the plug/monitor assembly from the receptacle. Embodiments include a plug portion inside of which is slidably mounted a connector housing carrying an electrical connector half. The plug further comprises a lever for sliding the housing between an engagement position, in which the electrical connector half engages a mating electrical connector half in a receptacle, and a non-engagement position where the connector halves are apart. The plug has retractable nubs on its exterior which are biased to engage grooves in the receptacle to retain the plug in the receptacle by a spring-like backing plate attached to the nub disposed in the interior of the plug near the walls of the slidable housing. When the housing is in the non-engagement position, the nubs and their backing plates are allowed to retract with a modest force to allow the plug to be engaged with or removed from the receptacle. Thus, the plug can be inserted into the receptacle without engaging the electrical connector halves, and the lever can thereafter be operated to engage (or disengage) the electrical connector halves when the plug and receptacle are engaged, without removing the plug from the receptacle.
An operating lever (23) can be swung to and positioned at three positions, that is, a connected position where terminals (25) are connected respectively to terminals in a power receiving-side connector (30), a provisionally-retained position where the connection of the terminals (25) to the respective terminals in the power receiving-side connector (30) is canceled, and a canceled position where the connection of the terminals (25) to the respective terminals in the power receiving-side connector (30) is canceled, and the retaining of a casing (22) on the power receiving-side connector (30) by lock arms (26) is canceled. A lever stopper (24) positions the operating lever (23) relative to the casing (22), or cancels the positioning of the operating lever (23) relative to the casing (22) by the gripping of the lever stopper in the operation of the lever.
A connector system for coupling to an audio jack of an audio player. The system includes an audio plug having a first portion configured to fit into the audio jack, the plug including at least one conductor forming a conducting path with the jack; and, a second portion configured to remain on the outside of the jack of the audio player after the first portion is inserted into the jack, the second portion having at least one contact coupled to the at least one conductor. The jack also includes a protruding edge surrounding the at least one contact. The system further includes a coupler to the plug having a first end having at least one coupling contact disposed thereon to contact the at least one contact on the plug, and a cap surrounding the at least one coupling contact, the cap configured to releasably engage the protruding edge on the plug; and, a receptacle at a second end of the coupler for receiving a standard plug.
The facilitated-detachment electrical connection device for kitchen appliances comprises an electrical cable exhibiting a connection plug to the electric network at one end, and a magnetised member electrically associable--through a magnetic force--to an outlet connected to the kitchen appliance at the opposed end, characterised in that it comprises insulation means present on said kitchen appliance and/or on said magnetised member for preventing the contact of condensate or the like with the electrical contacts of such magnetised member and of said outlet.
