A pneumatic tool is disclosed which includes vibration mounts to reduce the amount of vibration transferred to the user. The vibration mounts include a pair of support members and at least one resilient vibration isolator connecting the support member in a spaced relationship. A compressed air conduit passes through the support member openings but is only directly fastened to one of the support members.
An interchangeable handle grip assembly, conversion kit, and tools having an interchangeable handle grip are provided having an inlet extension tube and an outlet extension tube. The assembly includes a housing extension having a mounting bracket into which the inlet extension tube and the outlet extension tube are inserted. An extension grip cover fitted to cover at least a portion of the mounting bracket provides a gripping surface thereon.
It is an object of the invention to provide an effective technique for reducing the manufacturing costs of a handle mounted to a power tool. According to the invention, a representative handle may comprise a handle body, a grip, an elastic element and an elastic outer surface member. The grip is hollow-shaped and the handle body is inserted into the grip. The elastic element is disposed between the inner surface of the grip and the outer surface of the handle body to apply a biasing force to the grip upon movement of the grip with respect to the handle body when vibration of the power tool is transmitted from the handle body to the grip. The elastic outer surface member covers the outer surface of the grip. The elastic outer surface member is integrally formed with the elastic element. As a result, the manufacturing costs can be reduced compared with known construction in which the elastic outer surface member and the elastic element are separately formed.
A handheld power tool, in particular a handheld right-angle grinder (10), has an electric motor drive for a motor housing (11) that accommodates a tool and also has a handle (15), which is retained on the motor housing (11) by means of a handle mounting device (30) located between them, which handle mounting device has a mount (40), fastened to the motor housing (11), and at least one vibration-damping element (50) that is in communication with the mount (40) and the handle (15). The handle mounting device (30) has a mounting plate (60), on which the handle (15) is fastened by means of a fixation device. The at least one vibration-damping element (50) is located between the mount (40) and the mounting plate (60) and is solidly joined to them to form a unitary component. Fastening members (70) engaging the mount (40) are provided, which fix the mount (40) to the motor housing (11) and are provided with securing elements (71) that are free-standing relative to the mounting plate (60) and that, if the vibration-damping element (50) is torn, firmly retain the mounting plate (60) along with the handle (15) mounted on it (FIG. 1).
The present invention relates to a power tool having a housing, a handle having an inlet passage and an outlet passage extending therethrough, and a pneumatic pressure seal/vibration isolator positioned between the handle. The present invention provides a tool that has an excellent handle to housing seal and does not exhibit heavy vibrations. The present invention is also the vibration isolator that seals the handle to the motor housing and reduces vibrational transmissions to a user. Also disclosed is a power tool having a vibration isolator coupled to the housing and handle, and a mechanism for allowing sliding rotation of the handle relative to the vibration isolator, thereby allowing the handle to point in a different direction other than toward the point of impact. The present invention also discloses a pneumatic power tool including a handle, a housing having a first longitudinal axis, and a vibration isolator rotatably coupling the handle to the housing, the vibration isolator including a central opening through which air passes that is not aligned with the first longitudinal axis.
